Default Hawk HP+ Pads Install Need Help ASAP

In the middle of installing Hawk HP+ on front and rear. the pads seem to already have a shim on them (like a metal plate on the back of the pads), does this means I don't need to use the one that was on my stock pads?

Need help ASAP!

When I got Axis pads for my rear, they came w/ shims (not installed yet, but they came w/ the new pads) so I didn't use the old ones. If they come w/ them, you don't need to use your old ones.

I suggest you to TAKE THAT PLATE out ..... I had HP+ ( with that plate from Hawk) on my car and after few thousands miles ( include some track events ) that plate get lose and making contact to the rotor ( both left and right side ).
I was lucky to see that when I checked my tire pressure.

Make your choice.
