Suggestions on what engine to swap into my 91 HB STD civic
STD is standard right? I want to swap in the B16A motor. Can i swap in a different motor that will create more hp w/o alot of modifications? What head can i use? What cams? I want to get about or around 200 hp out of this motor. Any guys with the ultimate set-up please share info thanks! Oh yea, i want this to be a daily driver also.

you must do the mpfi before you can do a swap.

lol wow u really need to do more search
the reason why is cause u have dual point fuel injection. if u want to do a swap u have to switch over to mutli port fuel inejction, u only have 2 INJECTORS.

You could, but it won't work.
The engine harness plugs into another harness at large connectors located under the hood at the firewall. This harness runs into the car and hooks up to the ECU.
You can completly remove the engine from the car with the engine harness still on it - unlike some domestics I've seen.
Anyway, the wiring on the DPFI engine harness is different than the MPFI harness so when you plug it into the ECU harness it doesn't work.
The best/easiest way to do the MPFI conversion is to just modify your existing harness. It's really not hard at all so don't be discouraged.

If your B16 comes with the B16 engine wiring harness, you will want it, but mostly to take some connectors from it. You then splice those connectors onto your DX harness. You'll also need to move some wires at the ECU plugs and add some new wire runs (4 wires I think--2 for additional injectors, 2 for the Cylinder Position Sensor) from the ECU plugs through the firewall and into the engine bay. You also lengthen a couple of sensor leads (like TPS) and reverse the wiring of the TPS connector. If you go B16, you'll also want to wire up some kind of VTEC controller.
This site gets linked a lot for straight DPFI-MPFI swap:

Doing it yourself is cool and all, but paying a shop the little extra is more than worth the money. No hassle. Install a B16 and all the easy bolt ons and you will make around 150whp. Thats a good starting point.

Drop a B18c5 in that car. It will be a little bit more wiring, depending on how you do it, and then you will have to get the hydro conversion mounts. Then you are at 200 with a stock engine. You should do a search for red civic standard, he is running this same setup, with some other mods also.
As others mentioned though searching is your friend.

oh damn i didn't know that a B18C5 would fit. I read that it would take alot more extensive work to make it fit since motor mounts arent made to directly swap it in. Or is this true? Will it drop right in with the aftermarket motor mounts?
