Well last Wednesday, we had an ICE storm and on the way to work I had a fairly large tree fall on my beater. It shattered my windshiled and took out my drivers side mirror, no biggie atleast the pass. side survived. The dedicated worker that I am, pressed on untill the road was completly blocked off. So I turned around and headed back, dodging trees and limbs along the way. I drove back through the civic sized hole I previously made in the tree that was blocking the road. Then evetually I hit another limp that was unavoidable due to on comming traffic, and not seeing it soon enough. After that I decided I wasn't going to work. Took out my pass. side mirror, front glass, killed wiper motor, bashed in JDM pass. side fender, dented up the hood, and broken, JDM bumper light. Had my car not been painted flat black it would need a whole new paintjob. This was partially due to driving with a 7yr old perscription pair of glasses because I couldn't put my contacts in because we had no power. I got dressed for work by the means of flashlight light. This was just one day of allot of circumstances all plotting to destroy my beater EF. When I got home there was a downed limb where my car was sitting in the driveway, it would have caved in the roof and broke some windows. But I shall perservere. On top of all the car damage, the glass blasting through my cabin, scratched the $600 in Oakley optics sitting on my dash all to hell. 1 pair of their best snowboard goggles, and one pair of Their best x-metal shades. At that rate though it was just par for the course.




that window was shattered just replaced it.




gotta love broken glass.


The view through the 4th windshield I have bought new for an EF, #5 gets put in monday.


Stress relief program for the day wil include destoying **** with my tactical home defense shotty.

BTW should I get fake spoon mirros, or another set of stockers? I know you can't see much outa the spoon mirrors, but they are a good bit lighter(I am a light weight ****), and hug the chassis better, in the event, I drive through anymore trees.

 

so nice to be in dayton and avoid that storm. Sounds like it got pretty bad up there.

 

Yeah there are lots of parts still without power up here(Mansfield Area). Last night I went to a party at a powerless house, it was cool propane heaters everywhere keeping warm, everyone rocking flashlights and candles. They have declared us under a state of emergency. There are still many w/o power, obviously I've got power and road runner, we we're turned on about 6 on wednesday.

 

Daaaang, poor beater most would be proud for a DD. Well at least you didn't get hurt, and the front end is still in majority of GC. Clean that glass up yo, man glass is a pain to clean up. Nice and warm down here in GA. Shorts and all

Yeah I'm just glad the Headlights didn't get comprimised, then I would have to rob the set off my crx. I got spare corners, but the bumper lens......dammit. Thank god for flat black, I was gonna paint it eventually but, now that I have reaped the merrits of flat black to the extreme, it will stay flat black.

 

Nice "Beater" atleast through all that your ok alot worse could have happend the limb could have hit you.....Fix her up

def clean for a "beater", you're lucky those trees didnt cause more damage.. ie breaking the windshield and sending you off the road. Btw, I dont get how you couldnt put your contacts on without power lol

I always put them in, in front of a mirror, W/O Light that is kinda hard. I probally could have got them in, but I didn't have time to waste trying to blink the lens in my eye, I knew the roads were going to make my comute exciting, so I was trying to allot as much time as possible..

Those floor mats are a must for a snowboarder. function&gt;fashion. They made the glass cleaning easier too.

O damn, that sucks Bart! The car was pefect when i seen it New Year's day!

The Ice storm in Fort Wayne wasnt that bad but there were a few branches down but my car is parked underneath NO trees. I'd almost be more pissed of about the Oakley stuff getting owned. Unfortunate series of events right there...

Damn just drove it to work today, with no wipers, and the new windshield, in the rain. Rain-X kicks, ***. Anyway though, it is way worse in the rain, 4 or 5 nice sides dents in the hood, and the body crease on the fender is gone, it's just kinda round now. It sounds pretty weird going 60 with big holes where the mirrors are supposed to go. Which brings me back to the question?

TYC Spoon Sports knock off mirrors, or stock?

 

SS knock offs &lt;--- put thsese on the CRX

Then put the crx stockers on the beater...

 

BTW Josh, I found out what I could spend your hood money on, it wasn't anything for the crx either. Windshield 250 Sideglass 20 and I still need mirrors spray paint and bondo.
