What projectors fit in an Integra headlight for HID Retro?
Can someone list the projectors that will fit in an integra for a HID retro? I want to make sure I get the right parts. Thanks.

Check http://www.hidplanet.com, but I've heard that patrickgsr uses E-class Bi-Xenons, and there are others who use audi headlights. Check http://www.skafia.com as well, they got a pretty good writeup for adapting the audi's for the teg.

I would say that almost any projector will fit, since the stock halogen projector lens is pretty large (3" dia.). I and others use the Hella E-class bi-xenons. Skafia used Audi A6 projectors, others have done S2000 projectors.
Of course some fit better than others. Some you have to use spacers to bring the projector forward, some don't. If you use a projector with a lens smaller than 3" (S2000 and some other Bosch, Hella, and Valeo projectors have like a 2.5" lens) then you'll need to do something to fill the space left between the smaller projector lens and the larger 3" opening in the stock projector bezel on the headlight lens.

Thanks guys. So if I use the S2000 projector, it is smaller, and may not fit as well?
What is a good price to pay for some projectors?

well heres a couple of pics of my setup. s2k projectors, you can tell that they are a bit smaller in diameter so its not going to fit perfectly around the stock bezel. its going to be smaller

Now if you look at patrickgsr94's setup (which is an e55) its a little bigger diameter so it fits perfectly around the bezel.

look on ebay for them. I'm also currently deciding on some projectors. S2K would be nice but have a hefty price. There is an auction right now for a pair or TSX which is similar to S2k's for a little under 300

Wow, these tegs are hot. Big

BTW, gotta love HIDs being done right.

EDIT oops!
usually fot the s2k or the tsx are going around $300 just for projectors. reason why is cuz they are in high demand and they are kinda rare. but you can get other setups like audis, bmw, etc (for the whole package: projectors, ballasts and bulbs) for almost that same price or little more. go to hidplanet.com in their for sale forum. a lot of people there sell them in packages

Hey juicyfn, did you paint the inside of your housings too like patrickgsr94? Do you think this is a good idea for a retro on an integra?

It's a good idea, especially on 98+ headlghts, because the projector bezel has such a large chrome area below the projector that it might cause quite a bit of unwanted glare if you leave it chrome.

i did paint it like patrickgsr94. like what patrick stated above, you should consider painting the bezels black to reduce glare from the large crome.

If so, did you have to do the same with your retrofit? (cut bracket, install shims). Thanx</TD></TR></TABLE>
most retrofit will consist of dremeling the stock bracket to fit other projectors into them.

Why oh why, do you tempt me so? Such beautiful pictures, desired light output, vivid evening drives...

I know the feeling. I am having a tough time finding the projectors though. I would like the E55, but I would really like the S2000 or TSX. DROOL

I had to cut off the stock projector and enlarge the remaining hole. No spacers were needed as the E-class projectors very closely match the dimensions of the stock projector.
A6 projectors (on Skafia's page) as well as other projectors might be shorter in length, and would need spacers to bring the lens up flush with the projector bezel. If this is the case, you probably would not need to enlarge the hole that is left after cutting off the stock projector.

Thanx, can you check out the install and tell if you did anything different? It would be greatly appreciated, as I want to do this soon and want to get the best/easiest projectors to install on my 98 DC2 baby....LOL thanx bro.

I've already looked at it many times. I just cut off the stock projector as shown, and then used a dremel to enlarge the hole to the point that the E-class projector's mounting flange would sit flat on the headlight bracket. I also did not have to drill through the actual projector, as the E-class projectors have lots of holes around the flange already for many mounting options. Just set the projector into place, mark the holes, drill, and bolt it all together. Be sure to use lock washers to ensure that the bolts/nuts don't come loose due to any vibration.
