Default jdm d15b vtec cams vs d16z6. the d15b cams are different compare to d16z6

im bringing this thread back from jdmsir20. he made a discussion about the d15b vs the d16z6. some ppl werent sure they were the same or diff. i just did the swap today. i look at both cams, and the d15b cams were bigger on certain lobes. so i just want to clear things up that the d15b cam could be more aggressive due to bigger lobes. hope im correct if not some1 can set things straight

hopes these pics shows that they are diff. from all the info i read so far, it is more aggressive.

just being wider isnt what is going to cause the diff. its the lift and duration, what you need to do is have them both out and mic them and get real numbers.

so everyone that says the d15b cam is more aggressive is incorrect.

No. What he is saying is that the width of the lobe has nothing to do with it's lift, duration, or ramp angle. All of the D15B cams have the wider VTEC lobe, and are a different casting than the Z6. All of the info that I have states the D15B cam is more agressive due to different duration and offset than the Z6 cam.

thanks again jim for clearing things up for me and the rest of the d series guys. the cam pulled strong. vtec is louder and dang u even fall back when vtec kick in.
my friend with a eg hatch b18c even said he can feel the hp and tq increase due to the d15b cam installed

i have a mini me setup with the d15b cams, headers, intake, 2 1/4 piping with the p06 ecu chipped in p08 specs done by Jim truett. great guy.
