A company in Cali is selling them? Not for long, or they will be in for some huge fines. The NHTSA has already shut down or forced recalls on 24 companies selling HID kits for halogen headlights:
RM Racing
Astex USA
Kmax International
FET, Inc.
J. Liu LLC
Gourmet Garage
JC Whitney
Lighting Research
SPW Industries, Inc.
Pacific Micro-lite
McCulloch Motors, Inc.
Santeca Electronics
JF Manufacturing
Streetglow, Inc.
Outback Products, Inc.
Nu Performance
GR Motorsports, Inc.
Global Premier
New Clor
Importhookup.com
DG International
MTC Lighting
Umnitza
Liteglow
American Products Company (No. 25, not reported because they recalled on their own)
Why? Because HID in halogen housings are junk. Even in projectors like OEM Integra headlights, what you get is TOTALLY not worth the money, when you can get components to do a retrofit w/ OEM HID projectors usually for right around the same price as most one-million-some-odd K HID kits.

Ok, if you don't want to do the research, I'll try and summarise here.
Your headlights were designed for halogen bulbs, not HID bulbs, they won't project the light correctly. You could have hot spots, extra glare, etc... Its illegal to use a HID kit.
Retrofit HID projectors into your housings, and you have a proper projector designed for a HID bulb. The lighting will be better (wider beam, more even spread, sharper cutoff), the cutoff will be more colorful (usually, depends on donor). Legality on this one has been debated to death, my interpretation of the law is this is also illegal, but I'm no judge, so my interpretation doesn't count. Also, if you use a bi-xenon projector, you'll have HID high beams as well.
If you just want more light without the work of a retro, just use 9005 or 9012 bulbs. Thats alot cheaper then a hid kit too.

Heh, I hear the e55 projectors are an easier fit, but the s2k certianly do fit too.

seems like everyne is all about retro fit! well i got a kit from hid-express.com and they were grear light were 100% even, alls i did was plug and p[lay literally! good luck guys
i just put my in and i love the way it shines but i mean like everybody else says it could be brigher i think it all depends on preference and how it turns out out in the end. i consider doing it in the future or untill i see a a integra that has been retrofitted and the difference

Alright just to illustrate the difference, here's a couple pics of my old HID kit next to an S2000:
My Integra, HID in stock projectors:

S2000 w/ OEM headlights:

Nevermind that the S2000 headlights were misaligned, just notice how much wider and more even the light is put down by the S2000 projectors. With my stock projectors you can see how it just puts down 2 parabolic shapes, just like w/ stock halogen headlights. The beam spread is not very wide at all, and it's very bright directly in front of the car (where you don't need as much) and falls of quickly farther out in front of the car (where you do need it).
And you can see here how much wider and evenly the light is projected w/ HID projectors:

Also notice that with my stock projectors, there was no color at the cutoff whatsoever. With the OEM HID projectors, you can see the noticeable blue stripe at the edge of the cutoff.

I think you HID snobs are getting a bit out of control with these "must retrofit!" recommendations
Are retrofits great? Yes. Are they better than an aftermarket HID kit in OEM headlights? Yes. Is it cost effective (relatively)? Yes. Do all of us have the time and patience to do it? No. Will an aftermarket HID kit provide superior vision compared to OEM halogen? Yes. Does it have a perfect pattern with minimal hotspots and glare like OEM HID's? No. Does that mean that they are junk? No.
I love mine, they light up the road much better than stock and weren't too expensive. Would I prefer OEM HIDs retrofitted? Sure. But that doesnt mean that its mandatory, and all aftermarket HID systems will be junk. If you have the time and patience and youre interested in hacking up your headlights and getting HID projectors and retrofitting them by all means, you should. But if not, an aftermarket HID system is just fine.

hid kits in stock 3rd gen integra projectors are decent, def an upgrade from stock
the weakness with the stock projector is the inability to throw the light directly in front of the car
hid kit in a reflector type housing, is just disgusting, light goes everywhere except where u want it to go
also with a hid projector, the beam is wider, covers more area, and doesn't bleed light to where u don't want it, where it will blind oncoming traffic

i know the difference my question is since i have the hid kit already the plug and play type can i just swap the projectors from say a mercedes or audi into my integra. i seen other post where they use the asembly of other car and swap it
There are many online places still selling HID Kits with 9006, 9005, etc. D2S rebased bulbs. I bought one two years ago and love it. The amount of extra light put down makes a night and day difference. If you cannot afford HID's, atleast get silverstars.
Now, since then, I've bought a set of A6 Bi-Xenon Projectors and am just waiting for some time when I can perform the retrofit. When I got my HID's no one knew of retrofits, only a select number of people had done them.
Im not going to go out and say that buying a rebased kit is wrong because I have one. What is wrong is buying that kit, not re-adjusting your lights and blinding the **** out of all on coming drivers. If you dont have an plans to eventually perform a retrofit, then dont bother with HID's. Never buy a rebased kit for reflector housings because they blind like no other.
