good deal thanks guys, I also have another question. do you have a good way to test the drain and how effective it is. I tried pouring oil into the turbo but oil does'nt seem to want to flow through it. So I pulled the drain off and tried pouring oil through again and still drains through extremely slow. Does anyone know why it does this? Thanks

Looks good to me. Too bad you had to pay $75 for a braided oil return kit only to hack it up.

I cant think of a way to test it unless you had a glass oil pan.

i have an idea, might require a little work. pull the drain line off of the pan, temporarily plug the pan plug. put a pan under the drain. crank the car. have afriend blip the throttle a few times to see how it flows. Dont do this too long, you'll run out ofoil.

Yes thats the obvious idea. But that doesnt test the angle of the oil return, which is the whole point of running the test.

I feel your pain. Ive done alot of work on my friends Prelude SH and I know how incredibly challenging Preludes are. Its a long and difficult journey but it will be worthwhile.

disconnect the line from the pan. Fill the car up with the right amount of oil. Lower the car on the ground where it would normally be. If oil leaks out through the hole then the return hole is not in a good spot on the pan. Other then that it will drain fine.

gadamn, are all us boosted fools sad or what?? Coinstar is my savior!! =P

Just take it a day at a time man. Try to enjoy what you're doing cause you'll really never be done, there's always troubleshooting-tuning-upgrading-repairing! But it is worth it.

lol, no doubt.. Thanks for all your support guys

I made a decision not to finance anything that would hamper the reliability of my car because I could'nt imagine anything sucking more than having a blown motor and being in debt so much you could'nt afford to rebuild it. I will finance a build though

Dont fret buddy, looks like youve got a descent setup and will be well worth it

Just protect it

I was in the same boat, live in the sticks, no friends that are into cars that could help or even local members because I live in Canada

Im about the swap in a brand new motor I assembled from scratch, complete 20psi turbo setup, MSD ignition, timing and tuning and all that jazz

You think I know what Im doing?

**** NO!!!

But I try my best every day, your lucky youve got a beater. My cars been down for 4 days now and Im expecting about 3 weeks more before shes mint

You have to take into account that I work in an unheated garage from about 7-12 at night when i get home from work. Average temperature is about 30 deg and all my tools feel about 10 deg colder than that. , If I posted a pic of my beater you would'nt say I was so lucky

Either way that day is over, my oil drain is setup, and I'm feeling much more optimistic , I just keep pluggin away at it whenever I get time

i hope that works

no beef with that manifold, but wit the turbo leaning side to side, that def doenst help oil to drain out smoothly. i know first hand.

BTW: you cant pour oil into a turbo and expect it to drain out asap, it isnt a straight journey from FEED HOLE to RETURN. It goes threw and over the bearings and shaft etc... and its thick and cold oil.

ur fine id say. Id kinda we weary about how the turbo leans
