Skunk2 21mm Sway Bar
Well, I picked up this sway bar for a very nice price. One problem came up though...there were no "instructions" or anything (not that I would need them). So I just unbolted my old sway bar and bolted on the skunk2 bar...no probs.
Now...I have some extra pieces. This bar is designed for several cars (EGs, DCs, EKs, etc) and I am thinking these extra pieces are for those models.
Now PLEASE, do not tell me "those plates are reinforcement brackets"...I know this. This bar is going on a 2000 Civic Si and as we all know, we already have these plates welded to the back of our subframe. And I believe these longer bolts and spacers are for EGs?
So, now that I have everything on...there has been some talk of "getting the 3 hole plates from king" ...suggestions?

Are you sure your Si already has those plates? I was not aware the subframe on the new Si was any different than say......... a new EX. Hmmm..........I will check into this.
There is this guy on ClubSi who just tore his subframe recently with that very same sway bar. Are you worried about this at all??? Be careful! Subframe welding can get rather expensive from what I hear!
well...you must remember...a new EX does NOT come with a sway bar from the factory where as an Si does, so it MUST have something for the d brackets to fasten to...

Si's don't have extra reinforcement as compared to a CX hatchback. All 96-00 have pretty much the same subframes. The only thing differnet is that Si's have the nut welded onto the back of the subframe. Don't believe me, go search in Clubsi under the skidpad forum and find all the people with ripped subframes that where running the type r, mugen and skunk bars.

The Si's do have the nut welded onto the back of the subframe as well as these plates that I have pictured above...just like I have been saying...
Why doesn't anyone believe me...do I need to take pictures and show you all?!

I personally think the ST 19mm is enough for a Civic unless you are really into racing and/or have great reinforcement. You also not care 100% about the subframe because I slightly cracked my subframe with the ITR bar. It is not bad at all, but it did do damage. I was lucky I checked it every week after auto-x, or it would have been worse.
97CivicFerio...no plates eh?

Then what in the hell are those?!?!? Before you try to act all big and bad, it would help to pull your head out of your ***...I mean, don't you think I know what Im talking about considering I JUST installed the bar?!

Hey you know what you little *****? Why don't you come here and see how big and bad I am?
Those do not look "welded" on to me. That "lip" of metal sticking up from the rest of the subframe right on the plate makes it look like it was not something Honda put there. Anyway, I don't know anything..........why does the subframe have a reddish look to it? I have not seen a 99-00 Si subframe that looked like that.

Nice pic..oh by the way, when you installed that Skunk2 rear sway bar, did you LCA's have mounting points for the sway bar? or did you have brackets to attach to the LCA'S?
lol...oh my god...this **** kills me. the lip makes it looks like honda didn't put there...well, I hate to break it to you, but Honda DID put it there.
"why does the subframe have a reddish look to it?" hmm...maybe my car is ******* red jackass...
you are really beginning to be a pain in my ***...stop acting like a ******* jerk!

I am glad you found my resposes humorous. I am also surprised that you reacted so emotionally to them. Do you not get along with your dad? Does he **** you off? Seems like you have a lot of juvenile stored-up anger for some reason. You need to let it go. Maybe talk to someone about it, seek counseling, something. The healing has to start somewhere.
Ummm. Sorry guys but I have to agree wit riot on this one. I would kno I'm a tech at a speed shop and all the Si's I've seen have stock mounts for the rear sway bar. The rear subframe on the 94-01 Integras are pretty much the same as the 99 - 00 Civic Sis.
hey riot - i was told i did not need these plates either (96 ex coupe), but i FORCED the shop to install them like this.
looks exactly like the si setup now, maybe a touch thicker. they laid right in like they belonged there - i think it would take a lot for it to pull through now. just put
in on last weekend, thought this might be helpful.
