Im sick of hearing about these stolen tegs so I dug this up from the archives. I put a few links together of projects that cost next to nothing and will increase security in the teggie that you put so much hard work into. These projects are priceless, and they take about an hour to do and 5 $, and it could potentially stop a theft from taking YOUR integra, or any honda for that matter...........
1. DIY FUEL PUMP CUTOFF SWITCH
Price: 5.00 $
Time: 1 hour
http://www.honda- tech.com/zero...age=1 The instructions are in the 5th post down.
2. DIY HOOD LATCH RELOCATION
Price: free
Time 1 hour ( for those who dont know, this is the way most thieves steal integras with alarms)
http://www.team-integra.net/se...D=732
A few points really quick:
1. for the fuel cutoff switch project, you need a at least 20 amp switch( not a three amp switch as stated in the instructions), 2.99 from radio shack, to support the amperage of the fuel pump.
2. Also, for added protection , disable your power unlock by cutting the unlock wire going to your door locks ( for more information, contact weston)
au-gs-r and weston, thanks a million for these DIY projects that Im sure will save a lot of teggies out there and fustrate a lot of theives !
p.s. after you read this, bump it up so others can see it too
p.s.s. I know it wont be long before some cockgobbler takes his thumb out of his @$$, and yells "they will just tow your car away instead !" If that is the case then dont buy an alarm for your car, dont get a club, or do anything for your car, because they will take it away anyway right ? The point of this thread is ADDED protection, and taking 5 minutes to read it could save your teggie........

The hood cable relocation is a MUST. I just bought a GSR off a friend. He was selling because it was stolen and he didn't want to deal with it anymore. It turns out that we found the thieves got under his hood by yanking the hood cable (the plastic was pulled away from the fender well) and then they cut the wires to his alarm speaker.

What is the purpose of this? How do thieves get in with this?

or u could just have a backup alarm battery/speaker hidden that will still go off when they cut either ur main battery cables or alarm speaker wires....most backup battery/speaker units do not have any visible wires and are all self contained

ya the pics arent working, but you really dotn need them for the fuel cutoff project, as long as you know where the fuel pump is you are all set. And thieves have a way of activating the unlock circuit on your doors to get in...By cutting the unlock wire, you can still remotely lock your doors when you get out, but thieves will not be able to unlock them

No, this project does not affect anything else in your ignition circuit, it simply interrupts fuel flow to the engine; it is effectively the same thing as running out of gas

These are all musts...
I would get a steering wheel you can take off too, this is a great way to ward of potential crooks. I've done pretty much everything you can think of, but I am still nervous. Ocasionally have nightmares bout finding a shell of my car. Although I haven't had any issues since I took the time to do the layerd security. Of course someone can flatbed it.. but I think the chances of this happening are in the low percents.

Yes a hidden manual fuel cutoff switch, which is the most effective, will not allow you to remote start.
A alarm activated fuel cutoff will allow you to auto start, but is no where near as effective.

The power unlock switch is very easy to reach simply by pulling out the window on the car and reaching for the switch.

Even if you hood cable is relocated you can still pop the hood throught the front bumper. I know this for a fact, takes 10 seconds.
You have to block access the the entire hood latch assembly as well as relocating the cable. I welded a plate to block access to mine.

There wouldn't really be any sense doing the fuel cut off switch if you have your back seats taken out will there? The theives will be able to see the wire running from it (if they're smart enough to know). Any ideas on how you can run it if your back seats are out?
Yea good idea about hiding the cable, but it is definately still possible to unlatch it from the front bumper area. Definately get a plate welded in if you can. Crooks can still just crowbar your hood, so it's not a perfect fix.
Like rovigian said, the power unlock switch is sooo easy to reach, since tegs have frameless windows. This is kind of a trade-off, because the lock is useful at times.

I have my back seats out also.....just get creative with the mounting of the switch !
