Info on ATI and Fluidamper crank pulley
I have done a search and found limited information can anyone give me some personal experance? Pros, cons on both and prices I think the ATI was 350 last time I checked. My set up will be turbo, high boost, and no A/C OR PS. Thank you for all your help.

I am building my motor it is getting balanced, but I have read that a couple people on the board are using them and wanted some feed back on them.

ati is the way to go it comes with 10yr warranty and can be fixed if damaged
where as fluidamper has a gel on the inside that cannot be replaced

I have friends (all on the board) making 500whp - 680whp in their street driven cars and have yet to have problems with their Fluidampr. I got my Fluidampr from Arturbo but can't comment on it as of yet.

Sorry for the late reply. I just now got home from work. I would PM Arturbo to see if they have released the "Street Series".

It can be used on the street fine. I plan on driving my EG on the streets occasionally. And I have yet to hear any problems from the couple people here I know running it.
they do have the street series now. street would be the way to go unless you have full blown race car. its cheaper than the ati. picked mine up from jim justice. a few problems jim has told me with the race verison is the did not have a vary good charge on the battery. they couldnt keep the volts up.

so the alt pulley is not stock diameter? they made it larger so it's less load on the crank?

The street dampr underdrives the alternator but still charges at idle/low rpm. The race dampr doesn't spin the alternator fast enough for street use.
Both Arturbo and myself keep both versions in stock.

I am about to purchase one and Art told me that the race version shouldn't be a problem on the street. I am going to give it a shot.

The fluidamper (race version) does underdrive the alternator but its less than the ATI. If you are having charging problems with the fluidamper it'll be worse with the ATI.
for those of you that believe the myth that it has "fluid" in it and it'll leak out, its NOT true. Its feels more like rubber than anything else and will not leak. Its not like it has water in it.
Alot of Turbo 4/ Sport FWD racers use it like myself, Jason Hunt and Brian Ballard. Its used by some of the best engine builders like Jim Justice and Endyn. There are good reasons why those engine builders recomend them.

when would one need to start thinking about getting one of these dameners?
Like, what hp rating would most people start using these? I ask because my new build will have 350-400 whp (daily driven car)and I wanted to know if I should run one of these or not.

it is reccommended if you have forged internals. The damper compensates for the non-oem wieght of the internals.
the way I see it. it is not going to add horsepower, but rather make the horsepower last longer... $350 is nothing compared to a motor you probably have to close to $4-5000 into if your making 400whp.
