Twin turbo B16... WHAT?
Yeah. You read right.
A few friends and I went out last night, and saw someone new out in a 92-95 coupe.
We walked around, looked at the car, and noticed a decal that stated "Civic TT." I looked over to my buddy and said "Ohh, must mean TWIN TURBO." We laugh, and the next thing you know, the guy pops the hood, and there it sits. A B16 with two T3's.
Now my question to you boost guys is this... What's the point of two turbos on a stock-block B16...?

i think there was a guy on turbod16.com or junkyard turbo, one of the two, that was running a d series twin turbo. Lots of fabrication and lots of planning. AND TIGHT AS ****.

He was running only 8psi...
And he lost to my buddy's S2000 and nearly stock GSR hatch...
I wasn't impressed.
Sounded like poop too with the dual-exhaust.

not much of a gain for a lot of work but you have to give him credit. Its different and has protential for big power.
Dual exhausts? surely one turbo's exhaust feeds the second turbo.

Rafael Estafez (murdered the spelling) from DRT racing ran a twin set up for a couple of years in Hot Rod class. I'll spool faster than a big single.

With the right setup, yeah, but I can't see 2 T3's spinning up faster than a single large turbo like a T3/TO4E 57 trim, or even an SC61.

I would love to hear that spool<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by wantboost »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> that and two turbos spooling sounds like sex.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I would love to hear how that thing sounds.
Whether or not its advantageous, its great to see people try different things.

What's the point of fixing up 4 cylinders? It's just something to do for the hell of it

It was 2 ihi turbos. I took the kit off and I'm building a new single turbo kit. I had the kit on for a year and I'm glad I built it. I don't post my setups on this site cause the maturity level is very low and it always turns into a flame war.
Do a search or go over to homemadeturbo.com if you want more info on it

I have seen the car myself. His setup looks really good. It's got a good quality stainless manifold. But the turbo sizes he is using arn't small enough for his application. If it was a built 2.0 Motor it may work better but he doesn't make full boost till 6K. He is running twin T3's. His GF is really hot too!
