Timing Issue - Timing Belt Off Possibly
Here is the setup -
D16A6 Head Milled .0030"
Stock Bottom End
Here is the problem -
When setting the ignition timing with timing light, to get the crank pulley's three dashes to line up with the sight in the cover involves moving the ignition timing all the way to 10 degrees. In doing this, the distributor had to be turned as far as possible to the fire wall, which leaves me to believe that the timing is off about....8 degrees or so which just so happens to be the distance that one tooth on the timing belt being off would change it. Am I right in this belief or is there a whole other problem all together?

you reset the crank to tdc when you did the timing? it is possible it's off a tooth. it would be a pain in the *** but, i would just redo and make sure.

But does 8 degrees sound about right for one tooth?

Im not sure what one tooth equals. Like someone else stated, put the crank at TDC and look at the cam sprocket marks in relation to where they need to be pointed. Check a manual for the procedure.
