What should I do if my vehicle is stolen?
If your vehicle is stolen, report the theft immediately to the police in the town or city where it was stolen. Once you've completed a stolen vehicle report, the police will automatically activate the LoJack in your vehicle. After you contact the police, call a LoJack Customer Service Representative at 1-800-4-LOJACK (1-800-456-5225). LoJack will provide you with information on insurance company reporting requirements that will save you time.
taken from the website. so he was not talking out of his ***.

also

With the purchase of a LoJack, you will receive a two-year Limited Recovery Warranty. With this Limited Recovery Warranty, if your vehicle is stolen and not recovered within 24 hours, LoJack will refund the purchase price your LoJack system up to the manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP). Additional warranties that extend your coverage are available. Ask your dealer for detail

they will pay for your purchase price of the lojack, and with the fact that you never contacted them after calling the police they can use that as their reason for not finding your car faster, which is what the guy said.

as far as sueing them for not recovering the car faster and making a grave situation worse. well they can still use the same excuse.

i personally dont see any fault on lojack. just stating whats on the website and whats in the paperwork when you purchase a lojack system.

but good luck maybe you will win in court so who knows. good luck eitherway

Not exactly. It's just like if you own a go-kart arena. You can have everyone sign a disclaimer, but if there is something that happens due to NEGLECT, then they are still liable.

Trust me my lawyer would not have taken this case if she did not think I had a good chance.

This is definitely a case of neglect. They did not do all that they could in this case. Not only that they can only expect a person to do what is on the Lojack card because they state that "call 9-1-1 this is all you need to do to"

I think this sounds like a chitty excuse to try and get money.

You didn't call them like they said to do.

And I doubt they have a 100% gaurantee to find your car if stolen. You can't simply rely on Lojack and do nothing else.

Wow. I love the mentality of "I didn't read the directions so I'm suing you because I screwed up and lost my prized posession."

I feel for you dude. I had a bike stolen, I've had numerous car stereos stolen and nobody hates theives more than me but honestly... Think about it. Its not Lojack's fault. But since you're willing to try to blame it on them, the legal costs will mean that everyone who buys a lojack will have to pay more...

Amazing. I wonder if I'll get told off for expressing it so clearly...

They only say to call them on their website. Don't be a dick. I'll tell you the truth I never even went to the website before.

But before you start waving your finger at me you need to know what the **** you are talking about.

If you had Lojack you'd have been given a card that has your VIN number on it and a four or five step process that they say to take when your car gets stolen.

None of those steps include calling Lojack, they just say that on their site. Are you telling me that in the shock of getting your car stolen you would do anything besides whats on the card????

I followed the instructions on the card, and that was all they instructed me to do when I bought the system. If you don't have anything constructive to post stay in your hole. Especially if you don't have Lojack.

_________________________________

Please GET A CLUE and use your thinking cap. They NEVER .....and I say NEVER instructed me to call them. Not on the card itself with the instructions that you keep in your wallet, not on the pamphlet. They only say that on their site.

So those are not OFFICIAL instructions. So this is for you jackasses that think I'm suing because I can't follow instructions. Yeah I'm suing to get money...what else would I sue for, food?

And yes I think I deserve the money. Insurance did not cover the mods. Lojack should because they took FOUR TIMES the amount of time they guarantee.

You guys should really READ before you post so you do not **** me off.

But this is all besides the point. If you read my post you would see that my mother DID CALL LOJACK. She called one day after the car was stolen and it still took another THREE DAYS after I called them to find it.

So you still think I did something wrong????? Man you guys are quick to judge when you don't know what you are talking about.

So technically I did follow their website directions as well. Just one day late. So even if they had found it within 24 hours of me calling them directly my car would have been safe. But they took 72 after I called them directly.

So really all the excuses you guys made for them are bunk.

and its a 5 steop process when your car is stolen and step #2 is call the police then call lojack to let them know its been stolen

its not just on the website its mentioned in the phamplet you got several times and shows a step by step process on what to do.

Quote »

actually what they say is to read the little book carefully and if you have any questions to contact them.

They could have updated the website after they realized that there's a lawsuit coming.

IMO if the brochure or owner's manual do not list out this procedure, then it's NOT a part of the procedure. Rmember, internet and computers are not mandatory for everyone in the US. Saying that the procedure is listed on the website is not a valid excuse on their part.

Just my opinion... I'm not a lawyer but just common sense. [edit]Disclaimer: I do not own a lojack so I don't have a owner's manual in hand.

mmmmmmkay.....all that was great. And I did all of it.

So are you trying to tell me that because I called LOJACK one day after it was stolen instead of right away that gets them off the hook for not finding it for 72 hrs after I called them directly???

You have got to be shitting me.

They obviously fucked up somewhere.

Let me again state................I DID CALL THEM. So lets give them the benefit of the doubt and start counting the hours after I called them. Still three times the given time frame. So uhhh....yeah they could have used that excuse had they found it within 24 hrs of me calling them but they didnt.

In fact I have FOUR RECORDED messages in which lojack pretty much tells my mom to **** off and stop bothering them.

I don't know if you guys are selling LOJACK or something, but jeebus they really have no excuses left.

HAHAHAH actually I have the card in front of me. I'm gonna scan it right now for all of you. Man you are really gonna have your foot really deep down your throat on this one.

Check this out guys:

The card that was given to me. NOWHERE does it say call lojack.

So it might be an old card or whatever, but if they made changes they should have contacted me.

I WIN!!!

Looks like LOJACK is going to get a kick in the nuts from me!!
