ok guys here the deal on sunday jan 2nd cmi will be having a test n tune warm up but with a catch. We will have 1 pro class and 2 stock classes and if we have enough cars a quick 8 class will run too!


all motor all cars falling under normal nhra tech rules. 100$ is the buy in and that only covers your entry into the race portion of this program! all cars will represent a shop weather its the shops, a customers who car you built or even just your favorite shop who you want to represent for. but all cars must represent a shop!for your commitment you need to post a picture of your car and shop fonts for the flyer which will be advertisment for your shop free of charge and you can use your web site.


Turbo cars quick 8 if we have 4 cars for this class we will run it 100$ per car and same rules as applies for a/m class.


super stock all motor/turbo/nitrous/supercharged ay one of these setups can be run but only one. all cars must run on 24.5 tires or less and must have stock winshield, dash, carpet or mats(all 4),and door panels. all motor can have lexan side and rear, and fiberglass hatchs and fuel cells (only A/M) stock rear susp. only and aluminum covering cutout rear flooring ok, all others must have stock configuration, no car can compeate with a chassis which has been certified to go 9.99 seconds or faster (NHRA CERT STICKER) We have limited the tire size to matain fair competiton so the vehicles with major power has to step it down alot to run on 24 inch tires competition level should be from 11.20 to 12.50's
this class will run on a pro tree .400 and be ready for some great racing this class should be very competitive and most likely will be a 16 car field with 2 qualifing passes at least. the entry for this class will be 50$ and can win up to 600$ for first and 200$ for 2nd. this class you can represent your team or shop!!!!


street stock again all motor/turbo/nitrous/supercharged but has to run on dot approved street tires and runs no faster than 12.50's this can only be one poweradder only and will race on a .500 tree heads up all cars must have carpet stock windows,doors and panels you can strip the back but no lexan no fiberglass and no fuel cells and no aluminum. this will be 25$ to enter and most likely will be a 16 car field too! payout could be 300$ and 100$ for 2nd if you fill the field.
this field also can represent your team or shop!

to anyone who wants to run testing or grudge passes can line up in the other designated lanes for that all day. tech and gates fee's only

we are still working some of the rules to make for fair competition and your thoughts are appriciated so add a line and tell us what you think.

last now we know which shop rules the track and the streets with out having to run from the police. take it to the track guys here your perfect opportunity to put it down for your local shop or team.


Last need those images post asap for the flyer on this thread so we can get all of the cars and logos in! if this does well tony has informed me we will do it again in august in a much larger fashion.

i have not been a CMI event in a long time!

 

chad i am so down!!!

 

tire size is kinda small. many people are running 25's

 

problem is if you can run a bigger tire its no fair to the allmotor guys and others the tire size limits the horsepower you can run which will limit the time as we learn this format we can make adjustments to make everything fair! so no bitching lets just have fun!

 

by the way im not calling you a bitcher this is for everyone who moans at the race. remember last time we did something like this i had to race a 10.3 turbo car in the final and was dq by tech for not running front brakes. i wonder how they found out? hmmm.

im curious, how u run w/o front brakes? how u stop?

dam, i need to find myself some dot slicks

 

old s2 trick you only need to stop in a half mile so no fronts it takes a ton of rotational wieght of the front axels. 1070 @130 but is not passalbe by tech so run your front brakes. or dq or not be able to race.

I think all motor should be one class and turbo,nitrous,supercharger another class it may take longer but i think its better this way

 

we have do do it this way because its jan and not as many cars will be out this is so we will have full fields. trust me all motor cars have a great chance at winning this class. probably will! so all you boost guys better bring your game.

Cool idea Chad!! Ill see what I can do... We didnt plan on racing till march, but since this is a local california race. Im down to show support for my norcal neighbors.. now let me figure out how to post some pics..

correct if your going faster than 12.50's on dot.s you will get booted to q8 becuade you have no buisness running with these guys!

Chad this class would've been perfect for me to buy some M&H D.O.T's and run close to the 12.5's in but the Crx is for sale, maybe if I haven't sold it by then I'll try and borrow some drag radials and run this class. Sounds like fun and I really like racing heads up over brackets.
