alright... i've been trying to get my damn engine to idle and i'm out of ideas!

b16b in '96 civic cx (cx wiring with iacv fix, skunk2 jumper obd1 chipped p28)

idle surges just about all the damn time. sometimes it idles fine from start up then starts surging. sometimes surges straight from start up. sometimes idles fine for a few minutes then when i hit the gas pedal and release (goes back to idle normally) then starts surging.

tb's: str 68mm (tps adjusted to .44 closed .45 closed .47 closed and .5 closed, s2k adjusted the same way as str 68mm, '00 civic si stock tps settings. no fix on all the throttle bodies.

iacv: tried brand new iacv and iacv from jdm b16b, no fix. checked wiring (even moved the pin back to a14 (threw code for iacv) moved it back to a12.

fitv: not installed.

checked all vaccum hoses and intake manifold hondata gasket. no leaks.

no codes thrown, no cel.

any help will be appreciated.

 

Its the ECU.

When I ran a Skunk2 chipped ECU on my JDM ITR motor a few years back, it had a surging idle sometimes...not all the time, but it was enough to become annoying.

 

its either the ecu or tps once tps comes off you can't really fix the issue.

it might also be the ecu. same thing happens to my b16b it surges once in a while it surges all the time with some ecu.

i have a bone stock p28 that i'm gonna try.

 

changed ecu to stock p28 and reset tps. all idles fine now... yay! now to achieve 200whp. hmmmmm...

How do you reset tps?
