Ideas on trailer hitch for '91 crx
I have searched but haven't been able to find any information about a trailer hitch option for a '91 crx. If any of you guys know where to buy one or know any plans on the internet, please let me know. Thanks
One time I bought a 91 CRX dx from an auction, and it had a trailer hitch on it. The next week I went back and bought a 20 ft. boat. I towed the boat 10 miles to my house at about a top speed of 40 m.p.h. It was the funniest thing ive ever seen, ill post the pics if i can find em.

A small tire/tool trailer, more than likely.

I think with an MPFI upgrade, and other minor engine upgrades my small D15 can tow a car, I just need more torque, and worried about the torque converter.

It depends on what you are going to tow, you might not even need a hitch. I towed my friend's '91 hatch with my '91 crx DX with no problems, we couldn't go much faster than 65 mph but it worked for about 15 miles just using lots of rope.
The best way to make a hitch for this is to use a Reese Universal hitch kit for a small pickup truck. Flip the Hitch upside down and then swap the ends. you have to move the Muffler ( No Problem ) but it works good. this will give you 3500 lbs of towing with a 300 lbs tongue weight. I use this to mount wheel chairs carriers on the backs of Honda. it will cost less then $130.00 if you do it yourself.

Vega Racer: Thanks for your reply. Do you have any pictures of the install. I couldn't find a link to reese's universal small truck hitch. Do you know of an online retailer? Also, what does moving the muffler entail? I have thought about replacing it as it is rusting and in a dismal state of repair. would an aftermarket muffler make installation of a hitch easier?
To others. My trailering needs are about 400-500 lbs total and will alternate between towing auto-x tires/tools/jacks/etc and towing a 125cc shifter kart. The towing distances would be under 2 hours and likely I wouldn't encounter any form of a hill.

LOL, I'll be towing my 91 hatch (using my auto 89 DX sedan) back to AZ from NC. I don't think a rope will do.

another use for a hitch (rather a reciever) is there are bike racks that use those, I like them more than the kind that strap to the back of the car......but it requires a hitch....

Thank god it is approaching winter so your auto will stay just a little bit cooler while crying in pain.

As far as where to get one I'm in the same boat... They make them for the newer Civics... I'm thinking of getting a Civic one and modifying it to fit the CRX... or making one from scratch.
EDIT: looks like U-haul has them:

Please read my link that has already been posted.
If you're too lazy to find it, here it is: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1058438
I got my hitch from draw-tite. I believe it was $86 or so after taxes. Very complete kit, relatively easy installation, and it's built very solid.
Towing the Prelude didn't even give it a workout.

Draw-tite makes a hitch for the hatchback and 4-door but not the CRX. it specifically states "not for CRX" on thier website.
I don't know what the mounting diferences are or if the HB hitch could be modified or not.
