I went to jcwhitney.com and order 3 12" 180 degree ubends of their 2.5" aluminized mandrel bends and 1 24" 180 degree u bend. I went ahead and marked and cut the pieces with a 24 TPI blade and a saw zaw. If the piece didn't fit correctly I just kept cutting making sure I didn't cut too much. After they all lined up in the bay and to the intercooler and turbo, I took all the pieces that are at my feet to a local muffler shop and told them to weld the pieces together. Since they had numbers and tick marks or where to weld they got it done in under an hour for $35. I use regular silicone and regular worm clamps (89 cents each) and never had anything blow off at 10 psi. Looks intimidating to do, but it's very cheap and custom too.

With the welding done. PS the DP is on the very left hand side, which was done in the same manner only it was 3" piping and cost me $30 in piping .

I used ktellers 3" mild steel 180 ubend. I also bought about 6 feet of straight pipe and a 90 degree bend to do my own custom exhaust out the side of the car. Very cool! If you want pics I'll take some. For the DP I just guesstimated and cut ..then cut maybe once more to really get a good fit. Very easy and cost me a total of $50 with o2 bung and welding time. Cheap and I knew it would fit.

Not really. The thing is each intercooler is in a different position and because manifolds are different and turbo sizes are different It's hard to find Ic piping unless its from a kit. DIY for IC piping is easier then you think. I opened my hood and just took a rough estimate of how I would do it and calculated how many 180's I would need. I ended up with a 90 degree bend and like 12" unused.

I did my own intercooler pipng after getting an estimate for $1200 (Im not kidding either) for the intercooler piping, downpipe and 3" exhaust at a local shop. I went searching and found the same link thats already posted in this thread and did all the cutting and fitting myself, I even used a hacksaw because I didn't have a sawzall. It was easy as hell and the pipes only cost me like $60 from JC whitney, and I got them welded cheap. I ground the welds smooth and painted the pipes with high temp aluminum colored paint. So that is a very good link with step by step instuctions that worked perfectly for me.

These first pics are with my old SSautochrome shitty manifold, and 2.25" DP setup. Now, in the last pic, I have a new log manifold, 3" DP, and a custom wastegate dump out of the front bumper, but I still have my good old homemade intercooler pipes

itr206 your intercooler pipe does not seem so good (not in welding) but their is to many turns which equals less hp

again why? Does it look like i had any probs making power?
Why do you think it should be straighter? Have you tested flow differences or just ASSuming that it doesnt flow well because of the bends. They arent hard bends like everyone elses. They are more gradual , therefor actually flowing easier.
