Why would you want to use anything like that on the street? If you start changing things like these, it makes the ride so crappy on the street that you don't want to drive the car anymore except on the track!

i seem to remeber in the thread about the trailing arm bushing and why the poly ones are bad, some one posted up a J's racing one and no one replied

just saw this, this should clear up the skepticism.That version is the race version where most classes require the use of all the factory pick up points, and also the bearing slides back and forth on the steel shaft when the suspension travels up an down wich could make noise in bad weather or very long road trips, cars with race suspension wich have only a few inches of travel during driving should'nt have any problems on the street, 8K on my friends car no problems at all. A street verion will be released in about two weeks, same part except the steel shaft is fixed to the bearing and does'nt slide, with this design you must remove the toe link, the steel shaft will have slotted holes and toe will be adjusted. Also I must say for those who have'nt thought about this, sphericals don't necessarily make your car grip harder and pull more g's thus faster lap times, the bigest difference is the increased stability and faster response especially at higher speeds, the more stable your car feels the faster your going to drive it. My car has full sphericals and it feels nothing like my friends cars with bushings.

oh ya the evo 8 has sphericals from the factory, what ever kind of sphericals you had probably had all kinds of play or you probably were'nt using teflon lined bearings, my car don't make any noise, all your bearings and missalignments have to be press fit and have no play and there will be no noise, ruff ride ya a little more than stock but its not bad at all, GO DRIVE AN EVO 8

Rumor has it that pretty much all bushings are in fact spherical bearings covered with rubber b00ts...this is like 3rd hand info though...and one of the sources was .RJ....so dunno the worth

yah, but j00 suck at the game of telephone...he could have said: "EVOs do NOT have spherical bearings ANYWHERE"...for all i know...

I have a spherical bearing set up for the crx/civic 89-91 for the front cross member, and lower control arms at the rear or the front.
I have a pic that I can email you, it's not posted the web yet, for the rear swing arm, it is a poly bushing cast into a steel shell, it is stronger than the Mugen bushing and streetable as well.
I am not bragging here ok, just wanted to mention some experience I have with bushings in the crx, in 10 years of developement on the racetrack with the crx, I have found a set up that works well, and doesn't rip out bushings in the car. It is an odd mix of different parts, not a "one stop shop" type of kit. I have all the info. on the suspension and the set up data once installed, and it worked. Ask anyone here in the cendiv scca or nasa mwhc and they will tell you, that my car handled extremely well and the car was tight, not slang, you could feel the "solidness" of the car all the way through the corner, entry,apex, and exit....
If you email me, I will reply with the bushing pic for the trailing arm I think your looking for. Crx Lee can attest, (not that he is obligated to do so), that when he ran ita with us a few years back, we had a great handling car.
In the meantime I will get the pics posted on my site so you guys can see them.

I am not trying to pull my own chain here ok, just sharing some data I have compiled over 10 years of finding what works and what doesn't.
I wouldn't suggest a full on spherical set for the street, the bumps will just destroy the bearing seats, you need some rubber to absorb the shock and undulation of the road. Sphericals are great for a smooth surface, aka road course, but I would not want to run them on the street, unless you feel like replacing them after 15k miles, in other words one a year, there just isn't enough benefit from the bearings on the street to warrant the increase in cost over poly bushings.
