Default jdm d15 b or sohc zc

whcih of these motors would be better to get good power out of in an eg. im leaning toward the d15 because i have done the swap and it was cool. i found sohc zc on ebay that caught my eye and i just want to know what year car it comes out of and if they are any good

The swap will be almost identical for either. Get the D15B & boost it IMO.

thanx i plan on boosting but i think i can get the jdm zc for cheaper?? anybody out there help on this one thanx

I wasn't aware of sohc zc's, but I'd imagine they came out of jdm si's and crx's. Not the SiR. Um, if you're looking at building a cheap boost project I'd go the way of the ZC, she's got plenty of stock power, and I believe they handle boost well (check http://www.homemadeturbo.com). It all depends on what you want man, that and the obd 1 ZC's aren't as plentiful as the obd 0's. So goodluck on w/e route you take

thankx bro actually it is said in many places that sohc zc's are better than the dohc. just an interesting analogy

i have an sohc zc in my 93 civic and i like it alot it has a bit more power then the stock motor did. ive been told by many people and read on a few posts that the sohc zc can hold upto 12 pounds of boost if tuned right.

Correction it is more like 18psi with stock Rods, Vitara pistons, and a nice setup. At least this is hat I have seen back home in P.R. and with out any expensive programable ECU.

my boy jsut blew up his d15 on 9 pounds. im pretty sure he forgot to upgrade his fuel pump when he put the big injectors and fuel rail in

Go with a ZCvtec.. sohc 1.6 very similar to a D16z6 but more power.. more info call Makoto Auto parts.. 310-769-6952 ask for carlos his my friend!!!

the ZC came in 3 variations, all of which were 1.6l's. There was the DOHC, the SOHC, and the SOHC vtec models. Get it right

Try to go with thw Sohc non-vtec is better for boosting.
