Default tial wastegate in crx doesn't clear hood....what do i do?

right now i've got a b18b on hasport mounts in my 90 crx. working on installing a drag turbo kit in the car and the tial wastegate doesn't clear the hood. before anybody suggests to get another hood, it doesn't clear the fat, front part of the hood, so i don't think a different hood will even matter. This is on a drag manifold, stock hood...............any suggestions? I've looked at this thing several different ways and i can't come up with any ideas. I appreciate all the help.

oh, and i've already thought about just settling for the deltagate, because it's smaller, but i'm really trying to avoid that, because i want to use this tial......

DRAG 90 degree elbow: $35.00

Sits the wastegate on its side so it clears the hood.

Flip the wastegate so it lays over the manifold. That's the best way to have it fit. As for going with a new manifold, you'll also need a new downpipe if you go that route. Let me know if you need a deal on the combo.

i have a 90 crx si with a b18 as well; inline pro mani, revhard elbow, tial wastegate, and it still didnt clear. the only way around it was cutting the underside of the hood.

I know that a Turbosmart Ultragate will fit. Plus the Ultragate out performs the Tial.

35$ is still a little over priced for what it is.
Not dissing on Importparts @ all!! They are GreaT
</TD></TR></TABLE>

If you tried to make one, it would cost a lot more than $35.00. Let me break it down for you. The flanges are $10-$20 each. The pipe another few bucks. That's not even taking labor into account. I think it's a fair price. We don't make money on these parts, we just offer them to help guys finish up their projects.

a guy came into the shop today and said that using the eblow he lost power dramatically........he said that it was like somebody stuck a cork in his exhaust??? any comments on this? i'm new to the turbo world......not really sure how placement of the wastegate would affect performance, but i can imagine that it might.........

Cut a hole in your hood and shoot the dump tube straight up. Flames for the dragstrip.
