Default Canton racing oil pan, anyone use it?

If so what are your thoughts on this product?

http://www.cantonracingproduct....html

Anyone have any pics of it, especially details of the baffling/trap doors around the oil pickup? It is beeing advertised as a road race product so it would be nice to get a closer look at the baffling to see how it is designed to help keep oil in the right place during high G cornering.

I'm also interested to know how the header clearance is on this oil pan as I'm in the process of building a 2.1liter based on a tall deck Dart block so a custom big tube header will be part of the project. It looks to be offering better clearance than a stock pan but some measurements would be nice. I have emailed Canton about this oil pan so we will see what they have to say about their product, i just want to do some research before spending $$

Here's the only pic i have found of the oil pan so far :

I just finished a D16 with a Canton pan. Haven't taken it to the track yet

Each of the 4 walls has a trap door

Ground clearance seems to be the same as stock.

Thanks, I'd imagine the design on the B-series pan to be similar as it's also listed as having a diamond shape 4 Trap door baffle assembly. What do you think of the quality and fitment of the pan, it sure does look like a good quality product in your pics.

Quality is an 8.5 out of 10, which is quite good. Fit was perfect.

My reason for going aftermarket is I'm gonna be doing a lot of HPDE's with my car and as I'm gonna spend a lot of $$ on my engine build getting a oil pan that's baffled is cheap insurance against oil starvation. Another option besides this is the Mugen oil pan, but that's no more than a stock pan with some extra baffling, and it's not too much cheaper either, with a retail of $270. Besides, the Canton pan has a 5 quart capacity too, which is a plus.

Yes but that's more of a drag racing specific design. They can make a custom pan of course but what about price then?

I'm in the process of acquiring a dart tall deck block as well, and would like more info too... but here's the kicker:

Fwiw, I believe David (SMSP) was developing a header that had excellent clearance with a custom moroso oil pan... where all 4 barrels of the primaries were side by side like this "OOOO" in the oil pan tunnel..... I'm thinking he'd be able to come up with some baffles to that oil pan for a little bit more.....

I'd say that they mean you don't need a b18c or custom pan on the dart block. If the ls pan and p/u fit I don't know why the c wouldn't.

Yes Dart block needs LS pickup and baffle, but does that mean you can't use a B-series VTEC oil pan? According to the Canton site their oil pan fits all Acura and Honda B-series engines. I think I'll have to send them a email to get this clarified.

on a dart block i'm not sure but here's what I know.

b16's, b18a/b, and b20 use a different pickup and pan than a b18c1/5. the difference is the b18c1/5 have the girdle and a different baffle and the LS/b16 pickup would hit. So they designed a different pickup and hence a different pan. that's what I know of the differences.
