Putting your plug wires in the wrong order won't cause anything in your distributor to burn up. The firing order is 1-3-4-2 in a counterclockwise rotation when facing the cam gears, therefore when facing the distributor starting at the lower left you put the number 1 plug wire, then above that number 3, then beside that number 4, then below that number 2. As a result, when the motor turns in its direction of rotaion the rotor will contact and send spark to 1, then 3, then 4, then 2. Simple concept if you would just think bro.
