What flange does the turbo use? Same as the 14b?

in an evo its competly **** , im sure its not gonna be too much better with an LS.....i ope you didnt go through all this crap just to say you have a "twin scroll" turbo.

With less displacement and a respectively lower flowing head, I don't think this turbo will run out of steam. Remember, EVO's come stock with like 19psi out the box, it settles down to 16psi. Anything above that and it runs out of breathe. I don't think he'll need more than 10-15psi to get some ***** out of that B18b. But, I could be mistaken.

think of it this way... 19psi makes about 222whp on an Evo. now the evo's solenoid lets theturbo spool to 19 and then settles it down to 16psi after consistent spooling. this turbo sacrifices top end for faster spool time. also lets say you take the cat out of the EVO your gonna gain about 20-25horse. so.. lets say 247whp at 16-19psi. that's still pretty weak for that psi level. good luck error ratio about 10-15hp. that's still pretty crappy.

Okay, EVO's are AWD, more % drivetrain loss. And It's not that bad making 250whp on a small turbo.

I just don't think some people undertand how quick a 250whp honda is in the first place? I mean it's no rocket but with the powerband that turbo should make it will likely be a BLAST to drive.

youre comparing apples to oranges basically. Youre also forgetting that the ls has a full point of compression on the evo.

Actually yes, twin scroll WAS a major part in him picking this turbo. How many honda guys have a turbo that is WAY WAY WAY oversized for their engine...hmm, i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say about 95% I properly sized turbo/engine combo will walk on a "large turbo, stock block" honda everyday. Spool time is very important on an LS since we don't plan to rev it like a VTEC. We'll let the numbers do the talking once its on and tuned properly.

It's hard to say how it will turn out for sure, but talking about how many psi it will make doesn't really give you any idea of top end. Hondas love CFM's more than PSI. 250 hp will make a plenty fun street car, but for a drag car, you probably will find that that turbo will be pretty limited on the top end.

well this turbo does not have a high CFM rate, just take a look at the inlet. My 60-1 with a 61mm inlet and a GT35 wheel has an excellent cfm rate and the all out ball bearing GT35 is even better. Its not about HONDA's loving CFM, all cars get more power out of CFM. however, unless your are running a true ball bearing (i.e. true GT series turbo) in gaining CFM you'll have to sacrifice spool time. This turbo tells you the cfm sucks for top end because it needs to produce a high psi level to make its power. PSI is proportional to CFM.

my car is a daily driver not a drag car. i would not try this turbo on a vtec b-series but on a low reving ls thats not an allout drag car i think it going to do just fine.

I've seen Honda's with "oversized" turbos that were tuned properly and properly sized exhausts and straight through cats take fast awd dsm's.

Obviously, there is such a thing as too big of a turbo, but Honda's can quickly spool bigger turbos than you might think if they're tuned properly. Even on the street.
