Vortech FMU 12:1 / stock injectors VS Greddy SOHC Blue Box
I searched and it seems that the info is old and vague so i want to get new info maybe things are different...I have the greddy kit but want to know what would be better to run with the stock pre-set boost (5.5-6). Personal experience will always be great...thanks
ps uberdata will be some time next year

ive got my d15b7 turboed and when i was putting the kit together i just planned to run 5-6 all day long. the fmu will work fine with those boost levels. however it is not the best management u can use. if u wanna go much higher than that, i would recommend an safc and dsm 450's or uberdata.. u have way more tunability with those two options.
yea thats true i can run the same boost with both but what you think will be a more reliable set up?
well for me i have a HX so i don't think uberdata will work with that seeing i have vtec-e and some other thing I forgot stoping me... So its ethier bluebox or FMU i guess. As for the other guy he stated he was going to get uberdata sometime next year.

the blue box is junk thats why i guess thats why greddy kit come with the e-manage, i ran the blue box and it still ran lean on the top and that killed my motor, run the fmu and a fuel pump if money is an issue it will do the trick works fine for me now

I ran the greddy kit at 5 psi on the FMU and missing link, and hated every minute of it.
I then switched to the greddy blue box and ran it at 12 psi. Needless to say, a world of difference over the untuned FMU.
BTW, that was stock timing, injectors, pump, everything. Ran it that way for 6 months and blew my HG.
Now I'm running 8 psi solid on the greddy blue box, stock Y8, ARP headstuds, 2.5" test pipe/exhaust, ACT HDSS clutch, DRAG III FMIC, blah blah. I ran a 14.8 at 7 psi with the stock cat in place this past august, but it's good for mid-low 14's at 8 psi with the test pipe.
Racerage1 dynoed at 185whp at 7 psi on the blue box, with his setup being the same as mine.
Greddy blue box for simplicity

I ran the blue box only w/ 5.5 psi of boost and ran a 13.8 @101..This was in a 94 dx coupe with a d16z6..My a/f were 11.40-11.70 range...I then upped base fuel pressure 2-4 psi, and now I can boost up to 10 psi with a a/f around 12.0...The car ran a best of 13.20 @110 mph like this, with numerous 13.30s at 108 mph..

I really need you to give more info. on your setup. I'd believe 13.8 @ 10 psi, but not a 13.2@110 unless you can list your FULL setup like:
-Fuel pressure (WOT)
-timing setting
-stock fuel pump or upgraded?
-stock 240cc injectors?
-what plugs?
-dyno sheets?
-time slips?
I ask because I'm running 8 psi on the blue box, stock injectors/pump, 2 degree timing retard, NGK BKR6E's gapped at .034", 41 psi fuel pressure at idle, 50 psi at WOT.
I ran a 14.8 @ 94MPH at 7.5 psi, with the stock cat in place, and all-season 14" tires (2.36 60 ft.) in a FULLY loaded street-trim EX coupe. Now I'm running 8 psi with a 2.5" test pipe and I'll be going to the track with slicks next time hopefully.
I am hell bent on 13's with no more money in this motor.

He ran 13.2 at 110 on 10psi. 99lspwr is one of my good freinds. The d16 came out of my car . Stock motor 180,000 miles. Stock injectors and pump.
Why would you not use the bluebox if you just want to run low boost. What is the point of putting an fmu on there.
