Default Distributor bearing

Well the ecu threw a cel code 9. Did some search and figured it could be the dizzy bearings gone bad. Took the cap off and found there was a bunch of redish orangish dust. I dont even know what the bearings look like so if i was to take the dizzy completely off where on this picture would the bearing be? Would it be the coupling where number 7 goes on?

it's on the shaft in assy 1 in your picture. I had no luck in trying to have the old bearing pressed out - had to buy a new distributor from the Honda dealer (the entire item 1 in your picture). It was around $300CAD.

You may have better luck on getting the bearing replaced, but there are 3 hall-effect sensors in there (cyl position, camshaft speed, TDC) and they are soft and easily damaged.

i think gettin it replaced would cost lots of money, the igniter went out on mine and honda wanted $220 for it so i bought a brand new dizzy with a three year warranty for $200, i would check ebay that is where i found mine.

Pulled out the old Haynes manual and multimeter and here and measured resistance at the dizzy
Pin 2 and 6 measured 386ohms
Pin 3 and 7 measured 385ohms
Pin 4 and 8 measured 386ohms
Now the Haynes said it should measure between 350 to 700 ohms. All seems good but still getting cel 9. Well i did look at distributor king and his price is AWESOME. brand new complete dizzy for 200 bucks..I'll invest in that than.. thanks

So far I have had good luck with my unit from Distributor King. They do have a 3 year warranty.

The unit looked as good as the factory one, only the bearings were actually spinning in the new one. For the price and warranty, I say give them a chance.
