Just for fun, look at this:

Sounds like an expensive way to find out that you want to buy a used WRX.

i have a jeep for that reason.... but i was always curious about a straight CRV-tec swap, considering that CRV's are AWD, and swapping everything over to another honda, but.......................... i sounds more like a dream than idea.
if u really wantto do that with a b16 then u would have to use b20 transmission with a cable to hydro conversion kit which would also be pretty expensive then the tranny custom axles plus the differential but i think the AWS would be inpossible and pointless, waist of money
Did you think up this idea before or after you smoked that ****?
no no better. If VM Bugs can do it, So can CRX's!
better yet. I want a CRX with offroad suspension, a V8, AWD and a cloth top. But the frame isnt stiff enough so we'll use a different frame..... Or we could make it bulletproof and call it a HUMMER.
If you think about it that way any car is a CRX.. right...
Note: if you were an experienced tuner and posted alot, i might think this idea would be feasable.. but even with alot of money you wouldn't find a group of master craftsmen that would be able to pull this off for you nor would they want to.

dude, dont listen to these guys. Def. do it.
Used Crx: $1500
B20 engine and full suspension: $4000
mechanics bill: $15,000 (atleast)
The cost of having an aws and aws CRX: pointless
There some things money cant buy, thats why it hasnt been done

All wheel steering is crap, don't worry about it.
AWD would be cool.
if you'd settle for all wheel steering and front wheel drive, get an older prelude.

I've got a 90 4wd wagon. Whats wrong with just buying one of these? And doin a ZC, like me? Turbo ZC
My initial plan was a B16 w/ CRV tranny and rear dif. The best thing about my wagon is the hard part is mostly done. The worst part is mounting the rear dif. Resource old Honda-Tuning magazines for their Integra buildup. What a pain.
More and more people are doing this. Just more than I wanted to spend on a car thats not going to be driven like it deserves (ie-daily driver). I roughly priced parts alone, and ran around $3k (getting killer deals BTW). Not including labor. My car w/ the ZC didnt cost $3k. I am working on my next money pit as we speak
"a $5k Honda with $5k into it... is still just a $5k Honda"

hell yeah, that's a much better option.. I totally forgot about those things..
You're definitely better off with the AWD than the AWS.

I'd be lying if I said I knew anything about 4ws. All I know is, Honda stopped making cars equipped with it. Must have been for a reason.
And, what I have now, is the predocessor to the CRV. Seems to be working well. I'll stick with it.
