D15B VTEC Engine - Takes D16Z6 Distributor? I already searched...
Self explanatory.
A friend of mine just got a D15B VTEC and it has no distributor on it, and he has a D15B7 DX engine, so his diszzy won't fit.
The D15B VTEc does in fact take the 92-95 D16Z6 dizzy, correct?
Thanks in advance...

I have swaped out my 93 D16Z6 dizzy with my brothers 92 DX for troubleshooting purposes with no problems

You don't think that a completely different bolt pattern poses a problem though?
It's my understanding that the VTEc distributor and the non-VTEC have different mounting ears altogether, thus makingnthem not interchangable at all.
Someone help me out here.

It fits Tom. Both the Z6 and the JDM D15B have the P08 head.
The Z1 also shares the same distributor.
However, every other SOHC motor from 88-00 has a different bolt pattern.

im trying to use a z6 dizzy on my d15b vtec and only 2 of the bolt holes line up...is that alright? but now that its in a different position...i cant remember which way the spark wires plugged in
im now thinking i might have bought a non vtec dizzy not knowing it. So let me get this straight before i go buy another distributor....the d16z6 VTEC dist. is an exact fit and needs no modifications...and a 92-95 NON vtec dist. has a different bolt pattern and will NOT work?

correct, a vtec dizzy will bolt right up. the non-vtec dizzy can work but with modifications to the mounting bracket (i.e. drilling new bolt pattern). i have heard members on here doing that with no problems. works well if you are strapped for $$$
