Default Best springs for stock shocks?

Not looking for a coilover system or a sleeve-type spring.

Just looking for the best spring for handling, preferrably stiff as hell in the rear. Ride quality doesn't matter.

I have access to a set of Tanabe Sustec springs. The purple ones. Anyone have suggestions?

BTW, I am selling my A'PEXi WS coilovers if anyone is interested. They are about 6months old. Still work great. No rust. I live in Florida, remember.

kg/mm, spoon... were a couple that were suggested to me. i'm thinking of getting kg/mm cause there cheaper than spoon and are the same spring rates. neither have stiffer rear rate like you looking for.

here u go mike these are some spring rates i've collected...
not sure about their accuracy but their from past searches i've done.

stock type R - 247Front / 150-247 rear progressive
Neuspeed Race 2.00/2.00 500/450
H&R Race - 583F - 450R

these rates are too stiff for your stock shocks they'll start wearing fast...STOCK springs is best...

Isn't kg/mm just the spring rating? They're not a manufacturer.... or am I an idiot?

kg/mm is the manufacturer. I think it's a subsidary of H&R or something like that

What are the exact spring rates for the Spoon. I was told 6.5kg front/5.5kg rear.
Just want to double check!

Thanks

Kg/mm is a Japanese company; nothing to do with H&R.

I have been told that the Kg/mm DR21 Sport springs are the most popular in Japan (for what that's worth).

Actually "kg" means "Kilogramm" and "mm" means "Milimeter". It´s something like pound and inch. But I dunno if it´s a name of a brand.
I want to lower me future ITR too and somebody told me that I would be fine with springs when I´m not going to lower it more than about 1,6 inch. In the moment I´ve got the choice between H&R (about 1,4inch), ap (about 1,6inch) and DC-Sports (about 1,6inch). Which brand should I get? At first I wanted to buy a coilover system but he also told me that I wouldn´t be able to adjust it as perfectly as the stock suspension is! (And that´s very right I´d guess) The main reason why I want to drop it is because I really don´t like these gaps between the tires and the wheel-wells. And I´ve already asked this question in Purehonda, Automotiveforums, HondaSociety......but nobody could help me out with that! The only thing I know yet is that I will need a camber kit. SO PLEASE HELP ME AND GIVE ME AN IDEA WHAT I SHOULD GET!!! PLEASE!!! By the way, we don´t have got brands like Tein or anything else (japanese) like that over here and I won´t be allowed to use them by law. Thanx in advance!!!!

Mike K: As the function of the shock absorber is to reduce the oscillations of the spring - it makes sense that the stock R damper is "tuned" to the spring rate. If you increase the spring rate without increasing the damping rate of the shock - you will just end up blowing the seals in your stock shocks - and your car will ride like a P.O.S.

If you just want a drop - go with aftermarket bolt-on springs by Eibach, H&R or Comptech. Use similar spring rates if possible. Stock is ~240 lb/in (4.3 kg/mm) with linear rate springs up front and progressive rate at the rear (which softens the bumps in the rear when it is not loaded).

You are referring to TUV certification? Probably best to stick with H&R or Eibach in your case.

Yeah, I'm looking to buy some spoon springs off this one dude, but I don't want the car to handle worse. They only lower it 3/4" to 1"

just did some conversions and... the KG/MM springs lower 1.1" front with springs rates being 368.4 and the rear will lower .9" with the springs rates being 268.2. what are some thoughts about these springs killing the stock shocks??? spring rates are not that much higher than stock...

The only way you are going to get what you desire is a set of sleeved coilovers. Then you can do something like 300ft/350rr and your stock shocks will still take it. Neuspeed/H&R, etc are all designed for safe "street" use.
