OK I'm tired of this stuff. It's VTEC you fools!!
VTEC, not VTECH, V TECH It had nothing to do with the word "technology" or anything similar to that. It's an acronym!
Main Entry: ac·ro·nym
Pronunciation: 'a-kr&-"nim
Function: noun
Etymology: acr- + -onym
: a word (as NATO, radar, or snafu) formed from the initial letter or letters of each of the successive parts or major parts of a compound term; also : an abbreviation (as FBI) formed from initial letters
VTEC is Variable valve Timing and Electronic lift Control or sometimes shortened to Variable Timing Elecronic Control. It's a fairly simple concept with grand consequences.
You cannot "add a little vtec to a car" it's not something you can pick up at pep boys. It's pure and simple active cam timing for honda's sport/economy engines.

They can ask the second question as much as possible as long as the spelling is right, it is a totally legit question. But let us keep it down to one a day.
BTW, this **** is good. One of the better rants in the past couple of days, up there with the "What Motor Is Best" thread

actually, according to honda themselves, VTEC stands for "Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control" not variable valve timing &electronic lift control.
both the variable valve timing & variable valve lift are electronicallycontrolled, not just lift.

This post is an embaressment. Who cares, Vtec sounds like 'vtech' theres just no justice in posting this.
We all know, or should have enough idea that if the post is about some sort of engine that they arent reffering to telephones..
Grow up.

Eat me. It's a rant. What justice is there for a rant, tool. There was, like, 10 posts in 2 days with VTECH getting locked so I wigged out. You need to chill out, it's just the internet, buddy. Trying to make fun of the situation and hope a couple people read it and learn from it.

While we're on the subject...
1) It is always ONLY RPM. There should never be an S on the end for ANY reason.
2) It's always Tint. Tint is the plural of tint. Same with Neon. It's never neons. It's always neon.
What do you people think you're saying when you say rpms?
Oh, you're putting the S in for 'Revolutions' or 'Rotations'?
Okay, well...
It's [RPM] an acronym.
You only use the first letter of each word.
You don't put an S in there ANYWHERE because as long as it's over 1 RPM, plurality is already assumed. It's always just RPM.
Example:
1 RPM = One Rotation [Revolution] Per Minute
2 RPM = Two Rotations [Revolutions] Per Minute
When people say rpms this is what they're saying:
2 RPMS= (Two Rotations [Revolutions] Per Minute)S
