Default Question about replacing stator cover on f4i and frame slider installation

hey,
took a spill and my stator cover saved my fairing. i'm looking to replace it. can i do so without draining the oil? just leaning the bike over? and if i can just lean the bike over, how far do i need to lean it? i feel like that might be an accident waiting to happen.
secondly, where do frame sliders install on a 2002 f4i? they mention drilling is needed. i thought they mounted on the frame via the bolt closest to your knee when you are riding. do you just have to drill out the hole in the fairing to give room for the slider? if this is the case, that's good, because the majority of my fairing damage is there.
gravel is a bitch...

You can replace the stator cover without draining oil. I believe it does not have any oil in it. It needs to be dry to create the magnetivity. If it is on the left side of the bike you can do it. Remember that the cover with the Clutch on the right is the one filled with oil. As far as sliders....go to http://www.inturace.com/default.htm. They have good info on sliders.
