Anyone try seafoam?
I used it through the intake manifold (suck it in through the hose that runs to the PCV valve). It caused the car to smoke a ton (short period of time), whether or not it did anything is questionable though. I have not added any to my oil because I had just put some fresh Mobil1 in the car and did not want to waste that $30 ...
I also cleaned the throttle body and what I could reach of the idle control valve at the same time. My car seems to idle a little better now, but unfortunately I do not have any solid evidence as to which helped the most. I would venture to guess that cleaning up the throttle body and ICV helped the most.

I did it and i waited a couple of days for all the carbon to completely be removed and then did the oil change. I didnt want to change it right away and still have some carbon still being removed.
yeah, i hate to be a jerk, but you dudes really need to search for this, it has been covered very very well.
so i will help ya anyway, short story, search for more. Seafoam is great, works beautifully, change oil afterwards, very very few people have had problems, but it isnt the seafoams fault, just your engine has issues and seafoam cleans the blockages out that are blocking leaks.

After I used seafoam through the intake, I got a code 1 and a code 9. Fuel supply problem and O2.
Possibly so much crap in my engine that the stuff clogged up my O2. My cat also now has a clog - and my fuel filter had to be changed. All of these things MAY have been hastened by the seafoam.

If the car has over 100k miles, I don't think you should use seafoam. What seafoam does is clean out the carbon deposits in the engine, that's why it smokes so much. And when I say smoke, people have used it, and they say the cloud that it made could have been the size of a city block!
After 100k miles, theres too much carbon in your engine for Seafoam to do any good!

it works just as well but the carbon in your engine is actually prevent leaks... If your motor has 100k+ miles on it, you better leave the motor how it is or be in a **** load of problems.

i've used it on all of my cars and I think it cleans really good. If you do, be prepared for a cloud of white smoke. Do it at night if you do use it, and I picked mines up at NAPA for like $7.99 + tax.
would it just be a better idea to just leave the motor how it is with the carbon in it? i mean if it helps prevent leaks, whats the point of useing it? i have about 6k on a fresh rebuild, should i use it?
if it burns away all the carbon and opens up a leak... wouldnt it be a good idea to bring it to like valvoline or a tune up place and have them seafoam it?? And if something goes wrong like oil gettin pass ur rings, cant you sue them??
LOL I just bought this beater 1988 Jeep Cherokee with like 182k miles and I dumped a whole bottle of Seafoam in that **** through the brake booster line and dude it looked like my house was on fire there was a cloud that was so huge, people were pointing and a bunch of people came out of their houses to see what was happening and it like went in everyones windows and stuff and people were all pissed, it smells like **** but it worked wonders the thing actually idles now, amazing stuff! runs pretty decent......just a funny story
my .02 - I was turned onto it by a friend, car had 165k when I did it (h23), put it through the PCV valve let it suck up 'bout 1/3 of the can until the motor choked and died (which may happen, no biggie). When mine died, let it sit there for 'bout 40-45 mins. cranked it over a couple times, fired up and started smoking like a bat outta hell!!! (let it run at idle for 'bout 20 mins in the driveway) took it and the rest of the can up to the gas station (empty), put in the rest of the can and filled up. After putting the car through the paces and belchin' out the rest of the smoke, it idles a whole lot smoother, and even acceleration seams to be smoother. (no power gains but that wasnt the point). As for the fuel, just seems to work like any other FI cleaner. No adverse problems from it though (190k now), probably need to do it again, gets my
My 92 Accord with 136k miles failed the HC portion of the smog test...I'm going to try Seafoam tomorrow night, then change the oil (which was due anyway).
I used Seafoam on my 94 Z28 a few years back and it seemed to help some...

used seafoam 3 weeks ago on my motor. My check engine light came on but nothing like restarting your ECU couldn't fix. I was really surprised with the results. Took the lude for a test drive and boy did it feel PEPPY!! even in 80+ degree weather, 2 people, and on 18" rims! The only downside is it stinks and the smoke but that all goes away.

I used the stuff on my old motor with 185k on it.
I can't necessarily say that it helped my motor,
but it didn't harm it in any way

SWEET!
I swear seafoam made my engine cough a loogie of carbon into my cat and clogged that thing up. I stil belch smoke every once in a while, and it smells just like the seafoam.

yeah i used it on my girls h23/vtec. and my friends used it on his ls. i put some in the gas some in the oil/crankcase and some through the vaccum line. i also had some in a spray bottle to spray through the Throttle body. This will sometimes cause a little bit of stickyness but i run a stock system with the valve cover line running back through the intake like normal so it lubes it back up. IU also wait a while before i change the oil. especially if you added some through the oil. Dont wait LONG!!!
my boi got a mazda 626 w/120k n the car wont pass emission... think i should try this... the test came back it was to much Co or watever the C² or co² is...
