There's nothing to do electronically. You unplug your old ECU, plug the conversion harness into the car's harness, and plug the OBD-1 ECU into the harness.

If that takes more than 10 minutes, you got problems!!!

Don't even need to disconnect your negative battery terminal, but its not a bad idea!

Hey guys I just wanted to bring this thread back from the dead.

This is not really for me, it's for one of my friends. For the OBD 2 to OBD 1 conversion, you guys say that all that is needed is the OBD 2 to OBD 1 conversion harness and the OBD 1 ECU? you dont need to change out our OBD 2 dizzy to OBD 1 or anything else?

A friend of mine has a 96+ Teg LS with a turbo and I might try to convince him to swap to OBD 1 so he can run uberdata.

TIA

OBD 1/2 distributors are the same thing, just the plug is different.

I'm running an OBD2 distributor on my obd1 setup.

cool, thanks for letting me know guys...I just wanted to check and make sure. This dude I know from work is running a DRAG kit with the RRFPR. Since I will soon have all the uberdata software, I might be able to help him out by getting him to switch to OBD 1 and burn his ECU's for him.

Thanks again guys

I have obd2b P72 from my 2000 GSR, swapping to P72 OBD1. Some people say I need to do something for the knock sensor to work, in addition to the harness and ECU swap.

Is this true?
