Have you had your car tuned using the VAFC? Looking at your graph, you are loosing power due to that horsepower dip at around 4700RPM, where do you have your VTEC set at? Did you get a A/F reading along with your dyno?

Should of paid attention. Do you experience any problems with 235 tires? No rubbing?

I have tuned the VAFC, but that is the best settings we could find.
I was unable to get rid of the dip at 4700 VTEC x-point, tried moving up to 5250 but didn't help much.

No runbbing at all, but could be one of the reasons why I am putting down low numbers.

why have you decided to put all this money with jun parts etc... into a sport shift prelude ??????? I hate to tell you this, but i wouldent expect much gains and would expect the tranny to explode soon.

Infact I have been collecting tranny parts these days to do the swap as soon as it fails.
But my dyno is still low even for a SS, thats why I cant figure out.

your probably losing power because of that skunk2 IM too as some of the other people on this board with an almost stock motor have experienced. those type s cams are as good as stock, not making much more power until the high rpms. get your head p&p and when that jun setup comes in you might see more power.
those #'s look like a stock h22 w/ bolt ons to me...compared to other dynos on here sheets on here

how did you tune the v-afc without an air/fuel readout? I'd say a lot of things are out of tune

Right now I am not even sure if the S2 IM is doing any good in my setup. The dip in the vtec x-point is actually created by the S2 IM.
My tuner shop suggests me to get a more aggressive cams, TypeS cams is too mild and may not perform well with S2 IM setup.
My Jun cams will be installed this weekend, I can find out then..

My car was street-tuned via AEM wideband to get consistent 13.7, then fine tuned on the dyno.
Problem is there was no A/F readout on the dyno, so I cannot say my settings is optimal..
But still, should not make THAT much ifferences right?

All I can say is WOW I am so happy that I don't own your car. Yeah I know it is not constructive crtiticism but if you want that then swap in a manual transmission and go for higher compression. My 5 speed H22A1 made 169 hp with CAI and exhaust with 125,000 miles. Poor guy then on top of it all you have the even heavier 5th gen too. Sorry.

damn that's low considering all those mods you have installed, I guess the sport shift tranny is killing you badly, Your next mod should be a LSD tranny if you don't mind swapping out the auto. dont 5th gen 5 spds dyno around 160 WHP stock?

For those who have experience on the dyno, do bigger wheels cause lower number readings? or is it corrected on the dyno to eliminate that factor? I personally think those big wheels and heavy tires are not helping him. But regardless of that fact, the big concern here is that dip that he has on his dyno.

The bigger wheels & big brake kit certainly placed a negative effect on the dyno readings.
The big dip at vtec x-point is created by the S2 IM, I have yet found a way to eliminate the dip.

i agree.

this is the only place i could find real fast of a ss dyno graph.
http://www.ntpog.org/dyno/index.shtml
stock 147hp.
that's about 22% powertrain loss. damn.. thats a lot. the considering.. ur 161hp, that's a gain of 14-15 hp..

Theres a number of things i would think are making you lose power over stock. The Skunk2 IM, the type-s cams maybe, obviously the SS tranny, and I would also agree that the wheels are making you lose power. I had 16" rota c8s w/ 225/45/16 tires on my lude and when i put my stock 15s back on i felt an increase in power.. no joke. i wish someone could explain that.

Good luck with the JUN cams.. i've been told that they are too aggressive for an auto tranny tho.

Lets put the SS vs 5speed aside for a minute, everyone knows 5speed > SS.
I have taken into consideration the SS robs power, but the readings is still low from a SS point of view.
