Default 96------->2000 Front end conversion COMPLETED! [56k...LOL!!]

Well My friend (civicSIck) had a 1996 DX coupe, and he really likes the 99-00 front end, he also like JDM ****. When you combine the love for that stuff, and heard earned money with some crazy friends (myself and EG Drifter), you get the following. It took us 2 days to complete this and keep in mind that we had no idea what the hell we were doing.

It never occured to us that the rad. support was going to be welded onto the frame of the car (yea I know its a given right?), either way, we saw, we pondered, we hurt ourselves, then we conquered.

On the injury list we have the following:
DxBurnutKing: Fucked my left thumb up on the rad. support (wouldnt stop bleeding) amongst many other minor cuts on my hands, I caught a spark off the grinder in my mouth...
CivicSIck: minor cuts
EG Drifter: Was trying to pry the welds off with a hammer...tll the teeth broke off the hammer and he socked himself right below the eye with the hammer.

All in all, this was a learning expierience and we had a shitload of fun. Feel free to discuss/ask questions, tell us how gay this conversion was.

and I bet you're thinking so what...

well just a little side note. EVERYTHING NEEDED for this conversion was bought from Honda-Tech. CivicSIck DROVE to philly from VA to pick up the fenders, rad support, headlights and bumper, and a local guy sold us the hood. really good people.

Because the 99-00 bumper didnt fit right over the 96-98 rad. support, it was similar but just different enough not to work. and we didnt wanna ghetto rig it.

also, the car is getting painted next week on tues.

its a common misconception.

Its plug and play if you want to ghetto rig. If you want everything to NOT be a pain in your *** you gotta make metal fly. keep in mind we had to adjust his JDM fenders a million times cause they got bent during shipping a bit....yes those are JDM CTR Fenders....I dont even want to know how much he paid for it.

He should've gotten an engine swap first

Good luck and make sure it's garaged once the car starts looking appealing to thieves ...

haha I KNEW someone was gonna ask about those.

Me and civicSIck dont smoke. EG Drifter does however..EG Drifter was also broke *** that day, so I had to buy him the cigarettes....and you know what happens when you ask a non-smoker who wants his friends to stop smoking, to buy cigarettes? That person is gonna go out and buy the GAYEST cigarettes he can find. They were Capri 120's menthol

Ok I blew it a little out of proportion, they werent THAT bent.

yes we know. I told him to get the USDM Fenders and measure them and buy Stanley sidemarkers. but he wanted authenticity not ghetto-rigging, so he opted for the "real thing"

well we tried using the 96-98 and the 99-00 bumper fit but with like huge gaps....and **** didnt really fit right. like the drivers side would fit but the passenger would and vise versa. and we werent about to zip tie the entire front end together since the bolt holes werent lining up worth ****.
