Default Intercooler Painting?

Hey,
Is it possible to paint the intercooler itself. Check the pic below, i want to paint it black to be a little more subtle and hard to notice. I've posted in the appearance section as well.

I sprayed mine with high temp engine paint, flat black, works fine.

I sprayed it very lightly with flat black spray paint (1 thin coat) when it is behind the stock bumper, you can't even tell it is there.

I was going to paint mine with radiator spray paint, I have heard of people doing it but I have heard good and bad things about it.

what are the other downfalls?

Yes this car is tuboed and yes there is an intercooler in there. No diff in performance and temp on the ems is the same for the air temp's. just don't paint all the way through.

one layer and a little clear to blend in with the paint. It's not just the front of the intercooler that cools but the whole thing through. no detination no lag no prob's nothing. i know that many people say it is a downfall but have yet to see it and I live in hot *** florida.

While you guys are at it, why not *improve" the efficiency by coating it with a heat-dissipating coating?

My intercooler is coated with the stuff used for A/C condensors, OEM factory radiators, etc... The coating is meant to increase it's heat-dissipating properties. At least this way, there will be no skeptism whether paint will hold heat or not.

One of the local coater's website regarding coating:
http://members.rogers.com/gpengineering//heat.htm
Many coaters out there have this stuff available or have access to it.

All those looks good. You can also anodize it then you dont have to use paint.

B18OnTop tried to anodize his and it only stuck to the fins, so we taped the fins off and painted to rest black with high temp engine paint and now it looks superb.

i would have left mine unpainted but i really did it so that people dont know im turboed by just looking at the car. When people look at my car they usually glance at it and think nothing because they cant see the intercooler..this works well with theives.. because the less they see, the better.

So sleeper looking. I wanted to do the same, but i have also heard (not proven) that it causes an increase in heat. Does anyone have proof that it does or does not affect it? I read in one of the tuner magazines that it doesn't.
