Default another b16 dyno

Just got back from tuning with a hondata s100 and here are the results.

12/06/03 dyno- 186.1hp & 117.2ft/lb. this is a p28 ecu with ericksracing chip that he tuned on the dyno for my set-up.

09/26/04 dyno- 188.8hp & 127.3ft/lb. this is still the same set-up but ditched the chip the erick made and replaced it with a hondata s100.

here's the set-up

skunk2 stg1
competition port and polish and welded chambers/milled 0.023
hondata p28 ecu with S100
jdm dc header
iceman intake
2.5 catalytic
2.5 catback
itr t-body & manifold
Spoon flywheel

stock block & stock head gasket
compression is @ 10.7

the stg1 settings are at 2 deg advance both in & ex and the temp that day was 74 in the southbay.

Yeah , the torque gain that I got was a surprize to me and even the tuner but more on me though tuner said that I was runnning extremely rich and all it took is abit of fine tuning on the low end side. Car feels so much better and responsive compared to before.

The dyno used is a dynapak.

dynoed @ Church Automotive Testing

yeah i saw that 2 thats probably why they seem so high. still those are some good numbers.

i think they read flywheel hp instead of whp.

That would explain quite a bit....prob puting down 160-165 to the wheels..

its not flywheel , im looking at mines and at my friends dyno sheets and they both say flywheel on the top, but those numbers are too high dynapacks usually registers lower whp than the dynojets from my experience, so on a dynojet your numbers would have been higher, which cant be explain, cause you got stage 1 cams with only 10:7 compression, and simple mods,so your torque and hp numbers look almost impossible on a b16 stock bore/stroke with those mods.

dynopack dynos measure at the hubs because you take off you wheels. The less mass that you engine uses the more power you will have. So taking off the wheels will show more power. They are still good numbers.

close dynojet I dynoed @ 179.5 whp and 120.4 ft/lbs

Dynapacks show higher results but basically I choose this dyno because of its tunability features that dynojets don't have. The best mod that I did on my car is definitley the hondata s100 and church automotive testing.

Numbers are high I was surprised myslef but the tuner said welding the chambers on the head of course increases comp but also improves quench area of the combustion chambers, thus giving better results. But there are more factors to consider .

Those are definitely some impressive numbers for that type of setup. It looks as though the ECU made the difference.
