Default BIG TRANNY PROBLEM!!!!!!, please help if you have any comments whatsoever.

I just picked up my new crx, it has a B16a with a Quaiffe, and a new excedy clutch, new throw out bearing(s) and new synchro's, the car the setp was driven 800 miles in another crx, then he got rear ended, so i picked it all up for a decent price! my buddy installed it in that car and mine. The other guy had no problems, and put 800 miles on the setup. I put 250 on it coming back from ft lauderdale. i get to orlando, and stay the night at a friends. the next day i go to drive to the store, car is running fine, then i slow down and out it in 2nd gear to pull into the parking lot. right then it shitted out on me and kinda locked up.

Symptoms.

if i put it in neutral, and release the clutch, it pulls the car forward as if it is still stuck in a gear!

if it try to release the clutch and give it gas, as if i were going to try and drive off, the car loses all power and chokes out or boggs out or whatever you wanna call it. ***** out on me.

if i try to push it forward or backward, it wont move a full tire rotation, it feels like its stuck in gear.

f i hold the clutch in, the car idles fine si its in the tranny i think.

whats going on please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It almost seems like it would have something to do with the clutch. Like it't not seated correctly when it's engaged.

so is the tranny actually going into neutral, or the shifter just shows that its on neutral?
check shift linkage.
If not sounds like the tranny took a chit on you.

Maybe a broken shift fork or something to do with the gear selector?

I'd check to make sure the pin was put back in the shift linkage end attaching to the tranny. Sounds to me like the linkage is slipping on/off of the gear selector.

i had simalar to that happen on my old d15 crx, i broke the fork inside the tranny and it locked it into second gear, if i pushed forward with pressure it would disengage in neutral but if i let go it would fall on 2nd gears teeth and grind away
gl with yours hopefully its not internal

I am the same person that started this post, ( tha big ez ) just on a different name, made the rest of my trip home today! I left the CRX in Orlando to get fixed ( left with my friend ).
The guy that built me the car is going to cover all expences to fix the car except for towing to a local shop wich is like 50 75 bucks! I hope that they can fix the tranny on the car! Its got a damn Quaiffe and a new Excedy clutch, new synchroes, new throwout bearings. if not, i go back to, new clutch and not so new tranny. I am not assume the guy that built it, my car, is going to buy another tranny, and replace the synchroes, and quaife, and everything else that was new in the transmission, that just **** on me! He will prolly buy one used and ship it to the shop that my car is going to go to tomorrow, or the next day! Really sux ***! what a shitty vacation! so much for good times, just new problems. And for some reason nothings changed! Boo! yeah so, anymore comments?

Why would I be losing power if when I try and drive off, in whatever gear its stuck in? Maybe it would be because it isnt stuck in first! That would make sense. Thank god i wasnt running 70 down the interstate when it shitted out on me! I was only going 20-30 miles, if that. What happens if the shift fork where to break? Does it hit other stuff, and ruin the internal stuff in the tranny? The car was running so well, and on the way back to Orlando, after having already driven from Ft. Lauderdale ( 250 miles or so ), it was kicking the tranny out of fifth gear on the interstate, for basically the whole trip back. But it would stay in fourth! What the hell? So I make it to Orlando, and park the car. Get up next morning to go get a sprite, right down the street, and it ***** out on me like 2 miles down the road. thats exactrly what happened, from the time i got it, the car, to the breaking point. More comments of past experiences would be great, keep em coming! Thanks, TR
