Default Want to hear some Toda b cam user opinion and setting!!

I am using Toda b cam now. But i feel very confuse now. My mechanic followed the toda b cam info to tune up my car. I just got 84kw on the wheel. After he adjusted the cam gear to intake+4, exhaust +1. I got 107kw on the wheel. Before i use toda a cam...i got 111kw on the wheel. Can anyone tell me what is your setting ?? How much power you get?? What is your 1/4 mile?? My modification as below:
Toda B cam and cam gear
Toda valve spring
Mugen head gaskit
5 zigen full exhaust system
port and polish head and throttle body
ARC intake system
Hotwire cable
ird spark plug
Apexi power fc

THanks a lot!!

I'm not expert here but you could ask him to do a compression check to make sure everything is still ok.

Besides that you'd probably need to post up the dyno graph.

< hopes this guy is new to the english language.

1. Racing cams looking for racing compression levels. Long duration cams have a big overlap, dropping effective compression ratio. Try retarding exhaust cam a couple degrees or advance intake cam further (at your own risk=danger). Consider putting spec A or stock ITR exhaust cam back in.

2. Thinner headgasket may have effectively retarded cams a degree or two. Not positive of exact effect, but I "recall" something like .012 thinner gasket = 1 degree retard. so, the numbers on the cam gears are not a true reflection of actual cam timing at that point.

3. Playing with cam timing requires resetting ignition timing.

4. Do you have a header on the motor?

Others have had similar results with dropping in Toda B's without making other changes. Check the archives.

Good luck and keep us posted.

.....on stock compression with spec b's, I got 191whp/ 130ft-lb with tuning cam gears and vafc. Base timing was 22 degrees on stock ecu. Cam gears were at +15int, -10exh.

Yes, you read that right.

whats is your vtec point set at, also those cams will need the higher compression as others have stated. Most toda setups i've seen hvae no need to mess with the exhasut cam. just advanced the intake cam like 2 degrees. but...not all engines are equal. i've seen some weird setups for todas.vtec point is high. good luck
