Not all the parts. Front lower control arms, front upper control arms, rear lower control arms are different. Due to the rear lower control arms being different, EK rear shocks do not mount correctly on EG rear lower control arms, and EG rear shocks do not mount correctly on EK rear lower control arms. They require some minor modifications to work.

Well shock bushing on on the EG rear LCA is longer than the one on the EK. So to fit EK rear shocks on an EG's LCA's you grind the bushing, and to fit EG rear shocks on an EK lca you add washers. I see no reason why either one would be unsafe to drive on if done if correctly.

So if I get the eg or dc lca and shock (rear), what needs to be done for this to fit an ek?

I believe you can make the shock/strut fit but you need to run the right LCA for your car.

if you have an eg then an eg or 94-01 teg lca is the right one and if its a ek then the ek lca is what you need.

I have a ?, if on an eg/dc you use an ek rear lca on the eg/dc shocks then you will just need to add washers?, or will the ek rear lca not work at all on an eg/dc?

How about just the coils (H&R , Neuspeed...)? EG on EK? I was told that it will bring the front down alot but if I had Koni Yellows, I can bring the clip one slot higher and it will bring the car at the right level. Is it true?

I'll be doing this soon with my old suspension from my 98 Civic coupe to my 93 Civic hatch. What is the best method used to grind down the bushing?

What PIC Performance said is parctially correct.

Inorder to get EG shocks to fit into an EK the fronts work without any problem as they are the same.

The rear shocks however are different on how it mounts on the EK. EG arm bushings are longer which is true, but the distance from the top of the arm to the middle of the bushing is also shorter since the arms are cast.

EK arms on the other hand are pressed steel, first difference is the shorter shock mount bushing and yes you can add washers to make it work. However one thing that no one bothered to mention is that when you mount the EG shock onto the EK arm you will find that in order to make it you have to jack up the arm because the bottom portion on the EG shock is shorter which binds with the EK arm.

Does it work of cause but if you jack up the car the shock will hit the arm acting as a limitter which can be a bad thing or good depending on the situations.

How I know because I am using it on my EK, I cut part of the shock mount off to allow for a bit more travel. It works but thought you should know.

And to make EK shocks to fit the EG I would not suggest grinding the bushing as this creates trememdous heat which will damage the rubber part of the bushing. You can widen it by taking the 32mm axle nut and hammering it wider then compress it to fit the bushing which would also work. Did this on my CRX before, good luck. You might blow out your shock if you slam your car since the EK shock is a bit taller.

I am going through a similar process.
I owned a 1995 civic coupe with integra rear disc brake conversion.
I just recently bought a German spec 99EK hatch the equivalent of the DX.
I planned to swap everything over from my EJ1 coupe to my EK hatch to include everything from engine to brakes to suspension.
I also have megan racing rear lower control arms and SRR rear sway bar.
I planned to transfer the complete trailing arm assembly to include Ksport coilovers, megan control arms, srr sway bars all together to the EK .
since I am transfering everything together with they work?
the EK also have ABS what are my solution.

Just did this to my 93 Hatch last night. Cut the shock fork bushing down and the rear shocks fit perfect. Ride is superb...just like when the shocks were on my 98 Coupe.

Yes...99-00 Si rear trailing arms will work with the 92-95 Civic chassis. You will simply reuse your 5th gen lca's with the rear disc. 6th gen lca's are not the same length.

Got a newbie question...I know its an old thread but hopefully I can get an answer. I just picked up a rear setup from a 95 EX today at a junkyard. I am planning on putting them on my 96 HX. I know about the LCR thing from reading above but my car doesn't have ABS so will that be a problem at all? The 95 EX did. Also will I need to change the valve?
