Default lets talk about lowering 60ft's/suspension setups

I wanted to get a thread together of my own about lowering 60ft. times and some questions I have.right now my car is consitant 1.70-1.76 60ft. car. I have pulled a 1.67 60ft. at one track one pass and I would like to get down lower than that with a better setup on my car for next year.

Right now I have a open diff trans. How much is and lsd going to help me out on 60ft?

Right now I have the k206spd trans and having to shift to 2nd before I cross the 60ft. When I do the 5spd next year is that going to help me out since the gearing will take me past the 60ft. before shifting to 2nd?

right now I have skunk 2 coilovers(not drag) on kyb struts. How much is it going to help if I go with a full out drag suspension?

Also lets talk about alignments what do people find best to align there car at on the rack and if traction bars are worth having. currently I do not have them but have been thinking about going with the full race bar that has the brace to the front of my kseries trans.

I'm just trying to get some ideas because my car has been a street car for a long time and I think I'm retiring it from the streets this winter so I've always stayed conservative when it came to suspension and parts I didn't know if I really needed.

Traction bars, stiffer suspension, good alignment, lsd, mounts/inserts will all help with better launches. But 1.67 is pretty amazing considering what you have. I would layer these on one at a time so at least you know what helped you the most.

There is a thread on here about alignment settings. Lets see if I can remember. Positive caster will help you out, -0.5 camber and 1/8" toe are a good baseline to start with and adjust them in that order.

thanks everyone. Keep it coming I'd like to hear as much info as I can and I'm sure other people as well.

Here's another question. I've seen some cars raised real high in the air and I've seen some really really low to the ground in the rear of the car. Is the lower center of gravity better or should the back be raised higher to try and stop the weight transfer? just another thought.

Look at how most of those cars sit. Don't mind the Neon.

Those guy's have it figured out pretty well.

Raising the car just screws things up.
