I came close to doing the same thing, but I quickly realized I wasn't in gear.

what do you mean spending money on clutches?
Have you ever been boosted crapenese? Stock clutches suck and can't handle the power..... so yeah of course I'm going to spend a mear $383 on a competition puck clutch....

I'm with this guy.... I'm just wondering why didn't the rev limiter kick in...

I wish I knew...
Yeah I have two friends with k20's and they have this clutch, it barely feels more than stock except how well it grabs. There is chatter with it, but I'll get over it

The Comp stage 4 is basically what they call a "stage 2" made for street and track use.
Making power isn't as stressful to the clutch as transferring that power to the ground and the abuse it endures during repeated faster shifting especially a day at the track or something.
Stock clutches are good but there gonna eventually go when you increase alot of power, especially with a boosted application.

So, you were shifting to 4th, and you were not in gear (neutral) when you released the clutch? The rev limiter would have stopped you. Furthermore, even if you floored the accelerator at this time, you would have noticed "hey, I'm not in gear" long before you hit the redline.

How do you figure? The rev limiter won't work if you downshift in too low of a gear and it pushes the engine over the limiter, but the limiter will stop the revs in any situation other than that.
Still makes no sense how this happened.
