Alright I just built my friends Ls/vtec (b18b1-b16 head) Well anywayz the damn casting where the oil filter broke.... How does this happen?? The bolt came completely out and the casting was on the bolt... Can this be fixed???

im thinking the golden eagle sandwitch plate was tightened too much i would of figured the more tight the less chances to run into a oil leak

IM BOOSTING BY THE WAY AND IM ON BOOST CUT DROVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK n this happened

 

Take some pics for the block if u can get ur camera in there..?

there is still thread on the block and i screwed it in n i have enough to screw in the G-E Sandwitch kit but will it work as the same as it would???? i mean will this happen again?

 

hard to say... i'd thread in a threaded tube and have it permanently welded in.
Then use a low profile nut to hold the sandwich plate on but that's just my opinion
