This was early in the day I think I ran a 57ish in this video by the end of the day I worked it down to a 52. What I can see is maybe improving my lines a little and I think my corner entry speed is a little high in some turns.
Thoughts...etc...?
EDIT: oh the guy who was recording was sitting in his car with the radio on so there is some music in the background sorry about that.

well the course is sooo small... i can see now how u beat msutangs and corvettes...
its hard to critique when its such slow speed, but my only tip on that kind of course to gain some kind of momentum seems u slowed down either way too early or way late
and i dont see anything "naturally skilled" about it
jk
but definitely get more seat time... and maybe find an SCCA region near you and run with them... theyll have better drivers and courses

ya I can see where your coming from, I had trouble planning ahead because the course was all back to back turns.
my roommate says there's an SCCA autox meet in sioux falls on oct. 12th I'm planning on making the five hour drive out there I'll try and find a video camera to borrow for that.

Wow that autocross looks PAINFUL! Doesn't even look like fun (no offense since we all cannot be picky about the lots we get).
Doesn't even look like you got above 25mph. Anyway It seemed you kept it in 1st gear most of the time if not the whole time. There is one reason why you were 3 wheeling it in the pic you posted. All the braking is done by the engine and not by your braking system. Engine braking is harsh on the car as it makes ALL the weight transfer front to back quickly.
Using the brakes to slow you down makes weight transfer easier to control and smoother.
For instance I was watching a guy in a black S2000 at one of our events this year, driving the whole course 1st to 2nd and back to 1st gear. It was painful to watch because he was engine braking WAY WAY too early, where he could have been on the gas longer and brakes up to the corner. The guy asked me how to gain more time in his S2000 and I told him to leave it in 2nd and just drive. I told him every time he upshift and down shift that was 1 full second he was wasting on course. I said I counted 14-18 times he was shifting. He didn't believe me. So on his last run I told him what can it hurt but to try to drive in 2nd gear since he was in 3rd or 4th. So he did and when he crossed the finish line he was 8 seconds faster!
LOL.

Ya it was my first time autox so I didn't have anything to compare it to, I did have a blast though. The first time I ran the course I got lost and then I skipped the last turn the second time lol, I think this was my fourth run of the day. Like you said I never really got out of first. By the end of the day most of the rwd cars were making their own route and drifting. I am planning on going down to sioux falls for a scca event on the 12th we will see how that goes.
Wow that is unlike any AutoX course I've ever seen. I'd say you did pretty well considering. Go to an SCCA event, you'll see what its all about. The first time you go ***** to the wall through a slalom bouncing off the limiter in 2nd you'll see what a real AutoX is like.

I bet you that your body moves alot (like in the video on top). You want to drive with your arms and hands, not with the body. Use your left foot on the foot rest to support/brace yourself. There is a technique to "lock" the seat belt tight on the chest. There most be someone in the club that know that "trick". Driving position: closer then you thing to the steering wheel (especially in very tight courses). Street driving and autoX driving position is very different. Look far ahead to prepare the next turn. There are more points but those four points mentioned above are what neebies don't do.
