Default 240 whp Full-Race Civic chase down of 700 whp Ford GT

[edit] It is a Ford GT, not a Ford GT 40.

Went to Carguys at VIR last weekend. Some nice cars there including a souped up Ford GT. The owner was claiming over 700 whp and bragging about how no one has been able to catch him or keep up with him. I got tired of him bragging and decided to shut him up.

10 min video ~155mb
http://www.smallmountain.us/im...s.wmv

chitty quality smaller video ~18mb
http://www.smallmountain.us/im...s.wmv

He claimed he was going 160 to 180 in the straights. Judging by the video, I would say he is hitting 160. That car was just stupid fast in a straight line. And he had awesome fire *****.

Great vid! Your car is great and the fact that you daily drive it is great. Everytime I think of getting a 'drag' only turbo, I somehow stumble across your car. Do you mind linking me to your setup? Thanks, and keep up the good work!

edit: Nevermind, I clicked on the links in your sig. on me

He finally realized that you were the better driver/ quicker car in the corners 5 min into the vid. What was his reaction afterwards?

He packed up and went home (seriously). He didn't say anything to us. But I was parked right across from him. So he must have seen me drive in, unpack my stuff and go on track. I could have packed my entire car and rolling out while he was still winching his car into his trailer.

Here is that whole fiasco

BTW: Between HPC and Full-Race, they have NEVER had a header coating problem like mine. I'm special.

ROTFLMAO!!

I've never seen a quarter mile pass take 20mins! LOL

100% TPS for half hour = MrLego for the "***** the coating up" win!

Anyone who ever asks me why I'm not running huge mega power in my road course car again is going to get shown this video, and then slapped. Good driving, good suspension, moderate power own a crappy driver in a stock suspended car anyday!

Look at that nose dive when he brakes

What camera mount do you use?

Awesome job taking him down </TD></TR></TABLE>
The camera was a 140$ Radio Shack DXG-569V HD 5.1megapixal

http://www.radioshack.com/prod...96215

The mount was a I/O Port Camera Mount

http://www.ioportracing.com/Me...de=CM

I think I'm going to add another strap to try to help steady the camera. But considering how shaky and rough my car is, I thought the video came out awesome.
