There are a couple of places the DLC connector could be..

Right beside the hood release, just next to the drivers kick panel.

Or look at the bottom of the steering column there might be a sticker that tells you where it is at. Might be behind the ashtray.

Look along the bottom edge of the plastic on the drivers side.

And last two spots are under by the gas pedal. look toward the center console. and last is on the passengers side by the center console.

By the way what is a VTI? If it is a civic it is #1

All thanks for the info, Nub its a rhd and it's the diagnostic plug I'm looking for. Idle is at 1500 so looking to see if any errors present that can shed some light without me having to take to local garage

The OP has a 1998 Honda Civic VTi five-door. It'd be RHD because though most of Europe is LHD, the UK and Ireland are not.

I posted photos of a few five doors in this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=2

To the OP, I'm not sure if UKDM vehicles have DLCs like the US vehicles have to have. I'm not sure what markets this might have been included with, so I'm not exactly sureif a scan tool could be used on your car.

Here is an image of about where it would probably be if it's there though. I say "probably" because I know this is where most DLCs are, but not all. Not even all Honda DLCs are here.

If it's not there, look all along the bottom of the dash and check for any panels that pop off or open on the center console and dash parts.

Worse comes to worst, call up your local Honda dealership. They've helped me out in the past when I couldn't find a DLC on a vehicle.
