Default 2006+ Honda Civic Si 3rd Gear Newscast

Spread the word to other forums

I spoke to Mr Mattes today and he said he needs all the people that have been shafted by Honda to email him at Johnma@fox6.com or John Mattes and tell them how you loved the story that way he can do an update on this third gear issue. Please people, lets work together . He told me he is not going to let go of this story.I know some of you have already emailed him and I really appreciate it.Thanks!!

Found this over on the 8th. Im not the OP of this post. Im just trying to help spread the word. Here is the original post if you feel like reading more- http://www.8thcivic.com/forums....html

Send him an email if you can. I did. I just stated my name and location and thank you for a great story and how i am experiencing the same problems. The more emails he gets the more likely he will do an update and put more pressure on Honda to fix our trannys

honda tech and ive seen this problem with the si tranny so many times. if you are going to get this problem fixed would suggest trying to replace 3rd and 4th gear syncros. they have updated gears now and so far it seems to have fited the problem. sucks brand new car and the tranny needs to come out.

No, they said the trannys on the 08 si's were better. re-designed the syncros. hopefully that fixes the problem

Interesting. The service advisor on the phone with the guy is a friend of mine...and the same service advisor i work with when my car goes in for service. The team at that dealership is motivated to get to the bottom of the problem when my car went in for the same thing (car is currently there as we speak). Still waiting for some feedback from one of my tech friends whos been extensively test driving the car

What dealership is it?? I usually take mine to Pacific Honda in San Diego but they can't "duplicate the problem"

Its at Honda Of Escondido (formerly Cush Honda) in the Escondido Auto Park. I deal with Greg Shuck..he's a pretty cool guy and hes had several 06 + Si's come in complaining about the same thing so were trying to get this resolved.
