HAsport have developed Kseries into BB1- 92-96 prelude chassis mount kits!
My dream come true!I since making a swapped k-EG hatch have dreamed of combining the power of a k24 motor in a prelude chassis! It finally could happen now with out making your own custom mounts, etc.
Here is the post which was originally posted up at K20a.org where i am a moderator. If interested in more info come and sign up on our site. Most likely HAsport will be offering a conversion harness to get all your stock stuff to work like normal with this swap, and maybe a shifter box kit by karcepts(close friend of mine) will maybe have one out if needed now that this swap is out. Just thinking out loud here. What do you guys think?

Hasport is proud to announce the new BBK1 mount kit. This kit is for mounting the K-series engines into the 92-96 Prelude chassis. It is designed to be used with the TSX and Accord K-series transmissions. This mount kit has a weld in bracket for the passengers side of the engine bay so it is not strictly a bolt in kit. Wiring is available and axles are available too.
On a side bit of news, Hasport will be campaigning a K24A powered Prelude in NASA H1 for the 2008 season.
The kit will retail for $649.

Yep! K24a2s completely stock, tuned with hondata and a nice header make a little over 230whp and like 180ish tq i believe! That is also with a RBC manifold.
Thats more tq, and equal WHP to if you guys remeber corey's road race car, with JUN3 cams, Type S pistons, Valve Job, SMSP header, Tuned!
Thats just with stock cams too! With cams these motors make 250ish whp and close to 200tq!!
Man i would have done this instead of it being in my EG if it existed back in 04'!

If your a thrifty shopper you can get away with a steal! What most people do, is find a element motor bottom end, pull out the stock compression pistsons, swap in TSX pistons and rods which go for cheap, assemble that, and throw on a new Civic SI Head which was going for dirt cheap when they first came out from honda brand new! Type S cams, or if you want to, buy a whole type s head somwhere. Then find a type S tranny, with all that good stuff you can get yourself a good deal if you piece it together yourself for a little over 3grand(probably less if you shop good) if you do all the work yourself. But thats just the motor+tranny.
You can expect to pay retail like 300 bucks for the custom conversion harness, DC Sport swap header which makes decent power for its price for another 300 bucks, and wait until SMSP or DTR fab makes a header, unless a Hatchback swapped header works. Then fuel setup if you decide to go like me with a custom fuel filter, and lines, cut the stock hardline reflair, etc = close to 400 bucks(cheaper if you decide to use the stock Filter). Shifter box and cables you have to find most likely if you go my cheap route, not quite sure how muchb that goes for used, but you get the idea. Not a bad option consider how much power k24s make stock tuned on hondata or AEM.

Interesting.... Then there you go. You can run a Kwap civic header. Right now the cheapest best bang for the buck header is the R-Crew and i believe Sparks Racing. R-Crews goes for 700-800 and is 'supposedly' a DTR fab copy.
Still no 5g kit, but I wonder if I can change the past to have less invested in my current engine
K24 swap, mmm, *drool*

I think this is going to become a popular swap in the years to come for those n/a heads out there. Its good to see that some love has been spread to the prelude.

Well, like anything you can usually snag a deal if you're patient, Blake.
I got a complete 2002 K20A2 long block for $300 from a local shop (hydrolocked) and a complete, low mileage K24Ax from an Accord for $775 shipped. Since the car I have already has Kpro and a gearbox all I need is a header and rods and pistons and I'm set for 250+whp.
Realistically though the K24A2 in the TSXs are about $3000 and may not include a gearbox or shipping. Hondata is about $900, a swap header is nearly that much, you'll have to get a different TB since the TSX is a drive-by-wire and if you end up making a little power you'll need larger injectors too (RDXs are nice
).
Then there's the concern about a shifting mechanism, axles, wiring harness and potential hood clearance issues. There's always minor complications but if you got the money they are negligable.

Ehh....an entire K swap would be awesome-er, I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
If this was some kind of sell your H setup and spend an extra $2k it would be different, but this when said and done will most likely cost over $7k to do.

Indeed. However, this is a kick in the ***** to whoever has spent a lot of time/money building an H22 and still be stuck with a 5spd transmission. Myself included.
Ah well. What can ya do.

Easy dude...that's just a very low price.
Good deal, you could probably buy all he's got for that price, then sell them on here for a huge profit, if you have the $$ to float it.

'03-'05 Accord K24a engine's are pretty easy to come by so yea the price on them are low (for just the engine). Which im sure you know you need alot more than that...
Matt I actually just looked up a K just for curious and i saw a few USDM NON Type-S complete change overs out and about for around $4200, but your right, it would be kind of a pricey swap. Plus you know whoever does it, is still gunna want at least I/H/E, or watever else they might throw at it $ wise...

Well say you get the swap for $4000 flat
You need:
Axles: $400
Header: $400
Exhaust fab/work: $200
Throttle body: $200
Mount kit: $650
Kpro: $900
Wiring: $400 (or a beast of a DIY)
Shifter issues: $200 (?)
Anyways, that totals up to around $7350 and you haven't done any maintenance on the engine before putting it in, or any of the fluids, etc.
You will need custom radiator hoses as well. There will just be a bunch of stuff that isn't gonna work.
I doubt highly that they set it up so that power steering could work, custom lines would be $$$$$. I also doubt AC as well, another ton of $$ would be spent to keep that.
