well, it made 188 whp with a k&n drop-in filter and an hks axle-back. was wondering after the fact if they should of had the vsa off while dynoing? cause i know it was on, think that could of made a difference?

this is my friends s2k

the silly thing was the s2k pulled only @ 195 whp with a toda exhaust, and aem v2 intake.?? the owner assured us that these readings were accurate and not to get our hopes up that the whips were making more than what the machine put down. hmmmmm.

im pretty sure the VSA only takes effect when your tires are loosing grip.

The car wouldn't make a pull with the VSA on. We had to turn it off.

We ran my bone stock 07 Si a couple cars before you ran it put down similar numbers.

i went to HIN a few months ago down in long island and i saw a s2k put down similar numbers. I was really disappointed and i knew my SI has similar number. My buddy has a superchargered s2k, and he told me that those numbers were right due to the fact that its rear wheel drive and it loses about 40% of its power from the drivetrain, axle, and other things. So.... it would be nice to see a stock si vs. stock s2k.

do you realize what you just said? you actually believed that 40%, let me repeat, FOURTY PERCENT, of a s2000's power is loss through the drivetrain? come on now...

AP1 with a F20C- 240bhp - 40% loss = 144hp
AP2 with a F22C- 237bhp - 40% loss = 142.2hp

your buddy seems to be a smart guy.

I dont understand... How would VSA effect anything unless you were loosing traction?

uh... as far as the VSA is concerned, on a dyno it "thinks" that you ARE loosing traction!

When the back wheels are not moving and the front are it won't rev over 2K rpm.

VSA is more that just traction control, it uses the brakes to help recover from understeer/oversteer situations.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think any modern automobile has such an inefficient drivetrain. Automatic cars w/ AWD don't even lose 30%...
