Default Affordable wideband poll... sorry to whip the dead horse...

Ok so of course I would love to go but a motec wideband but I dont honestly have the money for that and I am not a serious tuner so it seems overkill.

I just need something to give me as accurate reading as possible (one of the biggest concerns) of my a/f without a bunch of un-ness. features/ wiring, headache, cost, etc for me, the basic end user consumer... within reason of course.

I am leaving the tuning to a pro and I just need a meter that tells me "lift dumbass".

I will leave this open so people can add other options but please keep it on topic if possible... think cost effective best bang for the buck in the 500$ or less range approximately.

Thanks.

damn it I accidently voted for the autometer becuase I though it was a link to the wideband ROFL

you forgot to list the PLX M-series I suggest the M300 but if you want datalogging without hooking up to a laptop then M500 but you said your not the one tuning so thats overkill just get the M300 then.

I personly run the plx-m300, my roomate has the NGK, and 2 of my customers have installed the AEM. My plx has been perfect the whole time and my only complaint is the display isnt bright enough during the day. It runs real time and is very quick. It has a narrow band output and datalogging. The NGX is much brighter display wise, but it seems to react a bit slower. if i remember right its a standalone unit. Now the AEM UEGO units......sorry, but from my experience, are crap. Both that we have installed are setup as standalone and both have malfuntioned in various ways, One of which led to blown ringlands. Now im not gonna sit here and point the finger soley at the WB, but it was very inaccurate when comparing to what the plugs were sayin. Other malfuntions include burned out displays and clips not holding togother. And customer service was horrible. When we tried to get replacements, AEM told us we didnt buy from authorized distributors and would not warranty them. So those are just my personal experiences with a few of the products you listed.

after installing the POS innovate with thestupid *** big bulky connector with the walkman style connectors, ill never use one again.

have the aem, been ok, probably will be letting it go and getting the afx.
i added the FJO for its reliability and accuracy. but im digging the afx.

PLX cannot be calibrated for sensor age, wear and tear etc....LC1 can

are you saying that the innovate is more accurate and RELIEABLE than the NGK or FJO

on ebay you can find the aem for around 250-275 so i think that would be your best bet for cost effective wideband. i personally have a FJO, but since you dont want any of the features and just want a simple wideband, aem is the cheapest and is accurate.

i guess i dunno, i havent used any others so i cant say from first hand... however it was rated number 1 in a test, and few of my friends have em, and none of us have had any issues yet... i can say its better than the PLX tho...

i have a plx m300 and two lm1's. I've never had any problems with any of them except for the lm1's breaking from me being rough on them which innovate fixed for free. First time my lm1's power connection got messed up and the second time my wideband hit a rock on the highway causing the power and ground to touch which caused my wideband to glow red inside and smoke haha. They also read pretty close to eachother, probably within 2 tenths.

ive only used the LM-1 and the AEM widebands out of this bunch... so..If I had to choose within my experience I'd say AEM. 255 shipped....hard to beat

if i had to get another wb i would get this one:

or this one:

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm

seems like the most for your money.

I have a brand new unused zeitronix I am selling... I feel it has too many redundant features that I dont really need honestly, and I think that when I glance at the display when driving I am going to have issue with quickly referencing a/f only.

Thats kinda why I am looking to something more simple and effective for my needs... although bang for the buck, the zeitronix seems to have a great feature set...

I almost forgot about techedge though, I have used them before and they were a good wb. Seems like another good option to keep in mind.
