Default Type R conversion?

I was checking out this thread a while back and someone had posed up a website that had all that parts from the 4 door type R; is anyone here that has the 4 door si planning on putting on all of the type R parts. I think that would be an awesome write up to see. Thanks.

I have a 4dr si and I'm planning on doing it but I'm trying to wait for the prices to go down a bit. I talked to the ppl on gtmotoring and they said the total for the font end conversion was like $3000+

That would really be awesome looking though. I didnt realize you had to do a front end conversion. I was suprised how amazing the type R was, in a video it was actually faster around suzuka then the outgoing nsx. Very impressive machine.

No one has done it yet. I will be the first to do the conversion. I have all the parts ordered and should be getting here in two weeks. it takes 4 months to get all the parts in. I will do the full conversion except the trunk and tail lights. I sold those to someone because i started to like the stock Si trunk, but the wing is going on the trunk. I will post up a thread of my progress.

Unless you are going RHD, getting a new dash kit, new seats, new interior all together, new drive-train, new motor, etc etc.. then all you're doing is the same as 2+ others have already done. Congrats

Yeah, and even if you swapped all of that... you still wouldnt fit the complete conversion without the rear end converted... sheesh.

You'd be better just to go and buy a CSX type S from canada. Then you add the aero package of the ctr and voila, you have the CTR minus all the cost related to shipping and etc...

What's the big deal about being the first to pretend your car is a Type R when it's not? Nothing to brag about really. Like someone else said.. save your conversion money for something worth while and just buy a CSX from Canada.

no i'm not joking and let me clear some things up. I'm not doing a complete type r conversion meaning body, interior, and motor. I am only doing the exterior conversion which is front end conversion, sideskirts, wheels, and rear end conversion. only thing I decided not do convert is the trunk because i like the Si trunk. If i wanted to, I could convert the trunk because i ordered that anyways along with the tail lights, but i choose not to. And i'm not bragging about being the first one to do so. And for those who say that it has been done before, show me some proof and I will correct myself. i'm a member on 8th civic and havnt heard of anyone that has done it. actually people are contacting me to let them know how the conversion will go because they want to do it as well. I ordered all these parts the from the first place that had them available which was GT motoring and this was back in May. if some one has done it before i would like to see what it looks like!

wow, you obviously dont know anything about the CTR! The CSXs is nothing compared to it.

If i wanted to i would, but i could spend less money converting a Si to type r and then boosting it. if i wanted to brag about having a type r, i would import one but i'm not saying that my car is a type r.

Well exterior wise there isnt much difference if there are any. I know that performance wise there might be some but are we talking about performance or exterior?

watch guys,....are you watching... your about to feel real dumb! you guys obviously dont know your civics. That is Sicky's old car. yes it is an Si but the conversion he did is NOT the CIVIC TYPE R conversion which is what the title of this thread is about. that conversion he did is for a CANADIAN CSX front end conversion. He added the JDM Mugen lip kit to it which is the only JDM parts on it. I am doing a TYPE R conversion, so let me break this down for you a little better so you could understand it in pictures.

CSX

TYPE R!

two different bumpers, fenders, lights, and hood!

BURNED!!!

can't view pics at work. i'll get back to you later about this.

EDIT: but going off what i know. the two front ends are similar it's just slight cosmetic differences. so yah, you may be the first to do the "type R" conversion but the conversion period has been done already.

what about that other FA5 with the blue TE-37's. was that CDM or type R?

the thread in 8th is a how to for CDM and JDM conversions.. isn't that what you're doing? I know how special it is that you'll be using a different front bumper and all.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by EZCIVIC TYPE R &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

OK so what's your point about being 1st then?

<U>http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45243</U>

get over the fact that the CTR bumper has a little different lower grill, cause that's about it.. so you're front bumper will be different than all of the other JDM conversions so far and you're not doing a rear conversion.. enjoy your white HFP wheels.. lol.. seriously man relax about the whole thing, it's cool.. I'm happy you're doing the conversion, I'll be excited to see when it's done.. but damn, get a little more hyped up about using a different bumper ok?

are those lights really different? or does the CTR just have his parking lights on? and the fenders are different why? and the hood is different why?

anyways.. I'm on my way to the burn unit..
